Mike Posner & the Brain Trust have emerged as one of the most anticipated acts of 2009, due in part to their critically acclaimed mixtape “A Matter of Time”. Twenty-one year-old Mike Posner of Southfield, Michigan, first surfaced as a vocalist at the age of seventeen when he was featured several times on Detroit’s 102.7 FM. As the brainchild behind some of Big Sean’s (Island Def Jam/GOOD) best tracks, Posner has proved himself to be a talented producer. Mike and his live band, the Brain Trust, have developed a unique and refreshing sound somewhere between the realms of pop and hip-hop. On March 1st 2009, Mike released his first mixtape, A Matter of Time, with DJ Benzi and Don Cannon.
Bonus: Mike Posner feat. Big Sean, Donnis, Jackie Chain - Smoke n Drive
Ladies love him, girls adore him. No, we’re not talking about old-school rap legend Rob Base — we’re talking about Heartbreak Drake. The Lil Wayne protégé has incredible buzz surrounding his breakout hit, “Best I Ever Had.”
The song is from Drake’s recent mixtape, So Far Gone, released in February of this year. The track is a favorite during his live shows, and it’s also taken off on radio recently.
Drake told MTV News before his show at Manhattan’s S.O.B.’s that he’s in the process of putting together a video for the song.

It’s Friday and we’re back with another edition of Foundation Fridays. This time Coalmine Records reached out to the creative geniuses at Monstar Films to help create a visual back drop to the M-Phazes remix of “Midnight Madness” which is a parady of the 1980 cult movie of the same title. The M-Phazes remix is featured on the Midnight Madness Remix EP which is available now on iTunes )along with 5 other remixes). The original Shuko produced version appears on The Foundation, also available on iTunes. Let the madness begin!!
It looks like you video game geeks will have a bunch of new Hip-Hop themed video games to look forward to in the coming months. Def Jam Rapstar is a karaoke style take on Guitar Hero that lets you pretend to be your favorite (presumably Def Jam) MC.
