Vado is Harlem

vado

A few people have been asking me for more shit from this kid Vado who Cam recently recruited for his new group The U.N. None of these songs are new.  I believe they’re all from his mixtape I Am Harlem which was supposed to have dropped earlier this year, but I’m not sure that it did (I couldn’t find it anywhere). In any event, he has a bunch of tracks from it up on his Myspace.

Vado – Talk To ‘Em (Original)

Vado – Letter to Big L

Vado – By All Means

Vado – Minority Report Freestyle

Vado – Out On His Own

After the jump, check out a quick clip of him doing “Talk To ‘Em” at Highline Ballroom during the Cam show.

Video: Fashawn on Real Late w/ Peter Rosenberg

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I didn’t know Fashawn was only 20 years old. Alchemist said Fashawn reminds him of a west coast Nas, and he admits he only heard Illmatic in 2003 (no Soulja Boy).

Fashawn live with Peter Rosenberg on his “Real Late” show Sunday nights. He talks about his comparisons to other greats, his debut album and how he met The Roots for the first time. Boy Meets World coming this August.

He freestyles at the end and apparently the project with Exile is gonna drop this summer. Check out Fashawn.net.

Jay-Z Confirms Independence

Props to YN.

With rumors swirling around Jay’s Def Jam contract buyout, Hov exclusively spoke to Rap Radar to confirm the speculation.

“I can honestly say, working with Doug Morris and LA Reid has been a unique and fulfilling experience and I respect them immensely.  I’ve been in the family for almost my entire career.

Doug and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique “negotiations” ever. Doug won the toss but, we both won in the end..

I thank him for allowing me to be a completely independent artist. Not every artist can say they own or are given the opportunity to own all of their music.”

YN: What is this coin toss about?

Hov: That takes a phone conversation, I’ll save it for our interview… classic.
