after goines shot that little dookie video in his tiny jail cell bedroom with all the laundry piled on his bed, i can’t look at dude the same
i think he was going for the whole “yung’n on his grind” angle
but at the end of the day even if you’re living in ur mama or grandmama house you can at least make your bed, put your laundry away, built a little desk/studio set-up from ikea for $200, hang some black and white photos, etc
dude was just looking like a mess and i thought to myself, if this dude won’t project the image of a star then nobody’s gonna do it for him
i think he has gotten consistently bad advice on his image
my buddy knows the cool kids’ management and even though a lot of yall think the cool kids just wake up and throw on any old vintage 80s gear, the truth is that their image is crafted, manicured, and handled top to bottom to ensure that they are viewed as tastemakers
thus, you find hipsters who have never even heard a cool kids record straight through but because they identify with the shwag, they’ll see they love the cool kids
i think goines needs better people around him helping him get his shwag correct
