Video: DJ Premier Speaks on Tha Blaqprint
Blaq Poet’s new album Tha Blaqprint has the cosign that most rappers would give a limb to have. That co-sign is DJ Premier and in this new short video, his praise to Blaq Poet is front and center stage. The video features Premier talking Tha Blaqprint and he’s so excited about the new album he can’t sit still. Watch and listen as Preemo spins in circles (literally) and discusses Poet’s history in the game and what makes Poet unique. Poet’s signature hard-core sound is only one of the many reasons why DJ Premier crafted all but two of the Tha Blaqprint’s beats and made it the debut release on his new label, Year Round Records.
As Premier details in the video, Blaq, a native and current resident of the Queensbridge projects, first made a name for himself in 1987 and has had continued success over the years through work with his group, Screwball, and as a solo artist. After his initial work with Screwball, Blaq released his first solo LP, 2006′s Rewind: Deja Screw, and he is looking to follow that success on June 30th with Tha Blaqprint. Featuring the gritty, New York boom-bap sound that Poet and Premier helped pioneer throughout their illustrious careers, the album will serve as a return to hip-hop’s original rawsounds.

^ Which is why I sometimes I think the NBA is leaning towards not having a Lakers vs Cavs. I still think its the Cavs and Nuggets.
^Nah quite the opposite. The ratings for the finals if its lebron and kobe will be through the roof

I blame Bum Buddens for all these C-List rappers thinking anybody gives a flying fuck about their pointless little blogs. What in the hell is Malice thinking? Nobody cares about your girl and your kids…Just write up a bunch of imaginary Miami Vice themed coke rhymes and keep it moving…nobody wants to see the reality of your day to day life…nobody wants to buy the clothes of a damn near 40 year old rapper who was only briefly relevent for the one summer Grindin’ was big and the summer What Happened to that Boy was cracking…he’s cheapening the value of the Clipse brand with this poorly executed supposedly “ironic” play on Curb Your Enthusiasm bullshit…MORE INTRICATELY WRITTEN FAKE COKE RHYMES PLEASE…LESS MALICE AS CLIFF HUXTABLE BULLSHIT VIDEO BLOGS..
thank you

nah right is a joke. you temporarily banned Asher Roth for making a Don Imus reference yet you post Star & Bucwild’s daily rants. This is the same Star who made disgusting anti-Asian comments against DJ Envy’s wife. So indirectly disrespecting Black women is high treason around here but intentional disrespect and racism towards Asian women is perfectly acceptable? I see what you guys are now

Some people hate is one of the best tracks on Blueprint 2 and I’ve heard niggas play it and like that aint on the net..It’s a soulful track so unless you running around with hergowitz and kowski, they aint feeling it. But if you play it for jamal williams and damien jackson, they loving it.

if any statement ever needed a pause uh… this qualifies.
Besides that, Why?!!! Blueprint 2 was wack!!! It was disrespectful to the 1st Blueprint album to make a sequel that bad!!! LOL
Was Blaq Poet in Pitch Black? I know he was in Screwball and not sure but I think PHD (Poet and DJ Hot Day) I just can’t wait for the Preemo tracks man! Nas and Jay-Z need to jump on some of his beats again too btw.
