NEW YORK — HBO has given the go-ahead to a new series about New Orleans and its ongoing effort to recover from Hurricane Katrina.
It’s called “Treme” (truh-MAY’) after a Creole neighborhood with a rich musical tradition. The series creator has a rich television pedigree: He’s David Simon, who also made “The Wire” and “Homicide: Life on the Street.”
Simon is filming the series in New Orleans, after making a pilot there this spring. New Orleans residents will be included in the cast and writing team to add authenticity.
HBO says it expects the series to start in fall 2010.
It’s the second time that post-Katrina New Orleans has been used as a backdrop for a major television series. Fox’s detective drama “K-Ville” was canceled quickly last season.

You deserve your number 1 spot cuz even I live ine Ivory Coast ,Africa…. I’m on your blog like 20times a day, while I’m writing this comments I’m in an accounting class so you know!!
But dude let’s be real they say ”HIP HOP Blogs”, what the fuck is Kanye’s mostly european and japanese fashion blog is doing at number 2, why is even cUDI’s, lame-boring-soporiphic-ass blog is even doing on that list, man I know they are swagger jackers,but in terms of number thisis50 and RealTalk are holding that blog thing down,
And yo’ I dont mean to be rude cuz lord know Nah, 2dope and ONSMASH ARE SOME REAL STUFF, but i can’t say the same thing about the 3others especially Dajaz1 and exclusive…c’mon!!!
