I met alot of good folks down in Austin during SXSW, one whom was the homie Ruck, who happens to manage Virginia-based MC Mic Legacy. You know how sometimes you can just tell when a cat is cut from the same cloth as yourself? Well, Ruck is one of those type of cats. A real stand up dude. And as it turns out, his artist has some spit to him too. This isn’t a new song, there’s even a video for it that’s been out since last year, but seeing as how I slept on it, I figured a bunch of you all probably did too.

Back in February, the homie JMack from the HoodHype podcast reached out to me about possibly offering up a post on the site as a partial prize for their Best of 2008 Listener’s Choice Series. Seeing as HoodHype plays only indie Hip-Hop, and Nah Right supports the shit outta indie Hip-Hop, it seemed like no-brainer.
JMack explains:
Throughout the year, each episode of the HoodHype podcast features ONLY independent music. After each episode is posted to the site, listeners and visitors can vote for their favorite artist on that episode. During our “Best of 2008, Listeners Choice Series” we took all of the artists that were voted by our listeners and spun their tracks back to back for three straight episodes and let our listeners vote live via cell phone text message (american idol style) and Rideout & Terry Cole took the win with over 1,800 votes. The winners recieved a post on NahRight.com, an interview with Angela Yee on the Shade45 morning show (http://www.zshare.net/audio/5577914490b888ed/), a feature with Donny Goines, a possible distribution deal with Amalgam Digital, and a free membership with SongCast Music
And so I give you the winning duo and song, Rideout and Terry Cole’s “Ways to Lose Detroit”. Check out the mp3 and a synopsis of the track from Rideout after the jump.

Another installment of Shaun’s Biography series.
Says him:
“My apologies for the delay to all the people who been waiting for the next bio. I been on tour nonstop and it’s damn near impossible to get these videos done when I’m not home. I work hard but, with that said, I always been the type of artist who prefers timeless to timely. So I will do my best to at least make sure that they’re worth the wait. Hip-Hop in 3D mixtape on its way.”
