Cheaper drugs like Marijuana and crack which are smoked stay in your system for much longer, and are disporportionately used by minorities because we can’t afford high falutin’ drugs like coke.

If they rehab a patient and he stays out upon release then they lose out on money…its better for these private prisons that this young man repeats his offense and is back incarcerated to help their bottom line.

He didn’t know the prayers, how to sit properly. That one scene says more about Malcolm’s departure from the Nation than anything.

In all fairness, it’s impossible to capture all the minute details and themes that a book as rich as the Autobiography of Malcolm has. I think Spike translated the general idea well, which was that Malcolm still had scales on his eyes while under the impression he was fully enlightened. But I respect your opinion though, I just don’t know if that’s enough to discount the accuracy of the adaptation.

That was a big inconsistency to me. Malcolm’s pilgrimage changed him as a man. How do you not hit that to a T?

Overall, I liked it. The humanistic scenes were the best of the film. Angela as Betty was great. I just think that Spike shouldn’t be the pinnacle of Black directors. If he’s it, I’m concerned.
