Phonte, Nicolay, YahZarah, Zo! and Darien Brockington sit down with SoulBounce to talk shop about Twitter, The Foreign Exchange music, upcoming projects from the entire crew, what would happen if Barack Obama cut a record with Auto-Tune and why they would never do a reality television show. You already know the comedy that comes with Phonte speaking.
“I’ve been holding onto this track for about a year now. But I just got the word to let this one go. This is the track that Scooter Braun heard at 2AM on Asher’s MySpace about 2 years ago that made him sign Asher to SchoolBoy Records. Asleep in the Bread Aisle in stores April 20!”
Today is the eve of Supreme Day. Tonight at 12 midnight U-N-I & Ro Blvd will finally be dropping their long awaited album A Love Supreme on www.YOThurz.com. We have been doing our best to give you all of the behind the scenes footage and interviews that we felt would help you get ready for what is going to be a big moment for hip hop and for unsigned artists. This last video pretty much sums up everything that this project means to the hip hop community and to the people involved. I hope you have been enjoying the ALS Sessions, and get online early tonight before the servers crash.
I’m a little late posting it because it’s after midnight but as of 2:30am EST, it’s still not up.
Anyway keep checking YOThurz.com to get it for free when it’s ready.
From Shake, he gets a special shoutout in the beginning.
As always, the big bad Brother tore it down this weekend at Paid Dues. This is the first, of many, videos that I’ll be posting from the festival. Unfortunately for ya’ll, I wasn’t aware that I could use my press pass to my advantage until after Ali’s set (ain’t that a bitch?). So I was deep in the crowd and did the best I could. The above medley jumps off with the man himself blessing me with a dope video drop. For those that have met Ali, will know that he is one of the most humble artists ever. Aside from the fact he has put out two of the best hip hopalbums in the past 6 years, his personality and attitude is another big key on why he’s one of my top 5 emcees in the game. The above clip also features performances of Bitchslap!, Room With a View & Take Me Home. I would’ve got more but… it’s Brother fuckin Ali. I wanted to experience the show. Much closer, and better quality footage of Slaughterhouse, Atmosphere, Murs and more coming soon.
Dipset member and master wordsmith JR Writer preps for the release of his new album “Cinecrack” today, Tuesday March 31st, on Babygrande Records. Keeping his internet game fly, expect to see a torrent of music videos from JR in the coming weeks/months.
But first, catch this sneak peak behind the scenes and on the set of “Going In” with New York’s own JR Writer.
