Video: Jadakiss Talks Hip Hop Wifeys

Friday, March 20th, 2009

How can I word this. This is a conversation that you can find going on at any given time in the comments section. The quintessential hip hop discussion starter: which one would you knock down…

Miss Sex ED sat down with Jadakiss in Atlanta last night and got all up in his business. He speaks on his choice between Amber Rose or Tahiry, The type of women he likes and what it was like freestyling with Biggie.

No disrespect. But if you want disrespect, that Biggie/LOX C.R.E.A.M. Freestyle is damn near better than the original. Props to Blogxilla

GLC ft. Kanye West & T-Pain – Flight School

It’s here folks. The mixed and mastered version has a sort of different beat. They switched it up a bit but that was expected… the simple beat we heard originally was probably just a raw version. Kanye‘s ghost blogger was a bit ticked off at the leak, but it would have been treason to look the other way and sit on a record like that. I know y’all ain’t hatin’ (c) Big Bro.

I think the song is cool, I hope GLC didn’t feel under pressure to rush out his version but that snippet they released obviously wasn’t enough to hold us over. No disrespect to GLC, but the original >>>

Video: The Roots Present The Jam ft. Talib Kweli & John Forte

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Says Gingerlynn:

Since everyone can’t live in New York City, OKP took our camera crews into “The Roots present The Jam” @ The Highline Ballroom to bring you a virtual video taste of the new weekly jam session. The jump off last week was a crazy first show, with Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch and John Forté Jr. trading verses side by side, along with Black Thought and Dice Raw.

Overall it was an incredible evening. Check out these two webisodes for the live experience brought directly to your ‘puter. After the jump is the 2nd video in this series, and it fully captures one of Capn’ Kirk’s amazing guitar solos. Look at those fingers!

Video: Officer Rawse: “Yeah That Picture Was Rick Ross”

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Lieutenant Ross speaks to Big Boy & em about the beef with BooBoo. Of course he’s speaking like he won taking it in stride, because he’s Bawse.

After the jump, Big Boy wastes no time to jump into the C.O. questions. Angie can’t get a real interview from you but now that a television channel offers to stuff your tight little jean pockets with money you’re ready to speak about it? Or that a magazine is giving you the cover, you’ll talk to them? You had to wait for a release date to save yourself… but that wasn’t possible after The Smoking Gun’s exposé… Nah right? I’ll laugh when XXL comes out with Curtis on the cover talking about Tia & Brooke and the other dirt he has on you.

Edit: My bad, comments are now open.

Crooked I – If You Ever Hear Me

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Audio Only

via MTV News:

MTV News was just given a brand-new Crooked I song, fresh out of the studio. The track, called “If You Ever Hear Me,” was produced by King Tech, who co-hosts “The Wake Up Show” with our very own Sway. The track has Crooked asking for MCs to bring back the great feelings that legends such as Kool G. Rap and Public Enemy used to bring in their golden era. The West Coast MC also calls for his peers to stop biting other rappers, talks about his plight in the music biz and promises to have major impact if he gets his big break in the game.

“Got my first deal and they pulled out my arteries,” he raps. “Shot me in the heart, I mean they killed the best apart of me/ … Last year, I was sick of the music/ Now I’m twice that.”
