Video: U-N-I x Diz Gibran x Blu & Exile @ The Lion’s Den

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Says Shamz:

Laaate pass on this one, but during my last trip out to Cali this past February, I stopped by The Lions Den in Long Beach to see some of my peoples perform. There was no shortage of talent on the lineup, and once I sobered up enough to remember I had my camera with me, I recorded the remainder of the show. Watch as U-N-I performs new music off of their Before There Was Love mixtape, Diz Gibran collaborates with B.J. The Chicago Kid, Exile does an MPC set, and Blu performs new music off of the Herfavoritecolo(u)r project.

Props to Okayplayer.

Video: KiD CuDi Isn’t Retiring

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Skee.TV gives you exclusive access at the South By Southwest music festival with Kid Cudi as he narrowly makes his show and announces he isn’t retiring after all (in response to his own blog entry saying he was quitting hiphop). With an electric energy in the crowd after the owner was stated Cudi was a no show, Cudi runs on stage after missing his earlier flight and performs some of his favorite material, freestyles for the crowd, and mistakes Austin for Houston.

Doesn’t that make you liable to die down there. *grips grain*

Jay-Z Piece in Best Life

Alternative cover after the jump

Funny story (not really): I got home last Friday night (Saturday morning), went to RapRadar (as you should) and checked out what they had up. YN had this up saying it was just ahright (great word) so I thought I’d check it out. I read it the next morning because I wasn’t having 6 pages at that ungodly hour and it turned out to be a pretty sweet piece about being true to yourself and other good shit of the sort. It’s obvious the writer isn’t an avid Jay-Z follower, but he does his best and it’s worth the read.

Check it out: Jay-Z’s Secrets For Personal Success

Spotted at RapRadar.

Hit the jump to see the other cover they shot for this jawn.
