Nice & Smooth + Pac Div – Funky For ’09 (Smirnoff Signature Mix)
Thursday, March 26th, 2009
Here’s the second new remix from Smirnoff’s Signature Mix series. Nice & Smooth and Pac Div pair for a remake of the early 90′s classic “Funky For You”. Check out some footage from the studio session above.
Man, I used to fuck with that Nice & Smooth album heavy in like 9th grade. I remember this girl Yesenia borrowed my shit and lost it, and I still hold a grudge against her for that.

Video: In Search Of… Asher Roth
Thursday, March 26th, 2009Internets!!! That intro is priceless…
DP goes in search of the rapper known as Asher Roth. Still mostly a mystery to those on the internets and even more unknown to those with no internet at all. At an undisclosed recording studio location in NYC I almost encountered the mythical Asher Roth. I did meet Scooter Braun though so this means I am getting a lot closer to finding out who this dude Asher Roth is.
Props to Dallas.

Lil Wayne feat. Dre of Cool & Dre – Hot Revolver
Thursday, March 26th, 2009I don’t understand the hype around this guy. Their first song was crap.
We didn’t leak this song in the first place (unlike Prom Queen) so I just ran with whoever people said was on here. The management company that’s handling the Young Money release just hit me up to say that it isn’t Kevin Rudolf on the chorus (my bad, although for the record I actually preferred this song to” Let It Rock”). Apparently it’s Dre of Cool & Dre, and they actually produced the record too.

This version doesn’t cut off, there was some more moaning/screaming.

Video: Bun’s Advice For “Young, Talented” Cats
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009“I can understand a kid [KiD CuDi] like that, who came into the game — he’s from Ohio, a small-town kid like myself — and within a matter of months, he went from being a person where, you know, like, ‘That kid’s got some pretty good talent,’ to, ‘Oh, my God, this is the next thing,’ ” Bun told us. “That could be pretty overwhelming for a kid that probably just wants to make good music. People are making him into a brand instantaneously, and that’s a lot of pressure to put on an individual. So I can completely understand someone being like, ‘You know what? I thought I was just going to be able to make music. This is turning into something wholly different.’
“One piece of advice I would give Cudi is to make sure he gets what he wants out of the situation, because there’s gonna be a lot of people who make sure they get what they want out of the situation,” he continued. “You gotta really know what it is you want before you step in. This game has a million directions it can pull you into, so if you come into it with no direction, then there’s no telling where you’ll end up. So you gotta make sure you come in with some kind of plan — just an outline, dude.”
