Video: GLC feat. Kanye West – Big Screen
GLC’s Love, Life & Loyalty coming soon.
The track will also be featured as the first single from the benefit compilation for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum: True To The Game.
Ye takes care of his artists. Probably the best artist/label owner out there.
I have no idea how the contracts are so.. don’t quote me.

i would tend to agree with your observation about kanye taking care of his artists. we’ve yet to hear much griping or in-house beefing, everyone appears to be in high spirits and all look fresh (nh) and most importantly PUTTING OUT MUSIC…

unlike many other stars and their crew… i don’t have enough hands to count the amount of headliners that just can’t separate being an artist vs. being a manager/label head/etc

^^^ he finally got around to putting GLC out, whereas other label heads would have left him out to dry and put out more currently hot g.o.o.d. artists like cudi out instead and left him on the bench. Ye seems to be a pretty loyal dude. He kept Cons on board even though Cons’ first album had low sales. Dude is treating his crew right. I bet Rhymefest wishes he signed there now.

If you’re referring to helping the roster gain acclaim, Diddy similarly “took care” of his artists (“the family”)…
…but based upon their apathy towards him based upon, um, fiscal issues, we all came to see that they weren’t really “taken care” of after all.
Based upon personal experience, I believe KanYe is ethical, but is hardly the only cook in the kitchen. Kid Cudi’s newfound success is great, but Kanye snatched up someone who was already garnering their own national buzz, which is easier than molding someone from scratch (i.e. GLC).
Nonetheless, the IDEA of a label like G.O.O.D. is needed in today’s versatile (and f’ed up) industry landscape, and I wish them the best!

^ ^ no, i’m referring to kanye standing behind his artists even when they were no longer “hot”. if any bad boy artist put up the numbers that consequence put up for his debut, they would never get a shot at releasing another album, point blank period. kanye gives his artists a shot to develop their fanbase, something few label heads do nowadays.
