The artist themselves have said as much. Dame was constantly pushing & doing promo for the label’s artist. The most Jay did is feature on a song or two.

Jay shoulda been like, nah, go with Dame? come on b, you wouldn’t do that in that situation and you know it.

But why sign artists when you know you don’t care about them doing well.

Look how they threw those Bleek & Young Gunz albums out there. Those shits were decent albums, but destinied to brick just based on how they were handled. Jay wasn’t pushing to sign Kanye as a rapper. I’ll admit, you can’t lose with an MC like Jay, but The Roc grew to be more then just Jay-Z & you gotta give Dame credit for that. Roc-A-Wear, Armadale, Dash Films, all ventures that Dame & Biggs brought to the table, sharing with Jay. Jay did the 40/40 deal for dolo. He’s done some shady shit.

well, I don’t have soundscans in front of me to compare the numbers, but you do understand that a little thing called the mp3 and free downloading popped up between those guys original albums and their albums under Jay right? that kinda changed the entire landscape of the music industry in case you haven’t noticed.

It was a failed venture from the jump. But jay-Z co-signed it.

And I’ll admit that the digital age prolly affected thier sales, but can you honestly tell me that Jay is committed to blowing up his artists?

This all stems back to the point, that the artists that went with Jay, would have prolly been better off fucking with Dame. Dame has proven his track record as an exec. Will he ever “make” another Jay-Z? Not likely. But he woulda put his all into making them successful. Lets not just forget Dame’s role in the Roc-A-Fella dynasty. Not too many execs who were smarter or more get-money-minded then Dame. Hov kept the name, he didn’t have to shit on dude completely. Even the bars on the “Lost One” jawn, kind of a low blow from Jay. I mean, you won already, why keep rubbing it in? Bitchassness? You tell me.

And I won’t even bring up the Aaliyah allegations.
