   Rolling Stone gave it 4 and a half stars. That’s a level usually reserved for artists like Coldplay, or Radiohead. The only “urban” acts I’ve seen rated that high before were Carter 3 and Nigger. Neither of which deserved those ratings

   Two, Trill was a loose compilation of songs, lacking any focus or theme. It had some bangers, but on the whole, it was a disappointing album, especially considering Bun’s legacy.

   A disappointing album, TO YOU. It went Gold like all of UGK’s other projects & what it lacked in cohesion, it made up for in potency. I’m well versed in UGK & no, Bun didn’t dumb shit down. Was Trill more accessable then UGK’s past work? Definitely.

   And there is a such thing as a Southern classic. 8Ball & MJG is a Southern classic, cause it’s a classic album from southern artists that was played & heard primarily in the south.

   I gave an opinion on the review? I did no such thing. I typed a fact. Rolling Stone gave it a 4.5 a half star review. In actuality, my last point clearly shows what I think about some of Rolling Stone’s reviews. So basically, I have no idea whether your above statement is a poor attempt at double talk or a clear indication that you didnt comprehend what I wrote.

   Also, I didnt admit anything. I stated that I never said they WERE credible, much like I never stated that they WERE NOT. You have no idea on whether I think Rolling Stone is a credible source, because I never said. This was to keep the debate on topic more than anything, but you keep trying to stray (ll).

   I have no idea what it going gold has to do with anything. And like I said before, if its a classic its a classic. If not everybody was exposed to it, it just means that some folks are missing out.

   Also, if its a disappointment TO ME, wouldnt that same logic apply to you. YOU think its a classic. Obviously that doesnt mean it is. I havent heard or read one person or media outlet echo that sentiment. And “dumbing down” one’s lyrics tend to go hand in hand with more commercial accesiblity, can you think of a artist where this has not been the case? I can’t.

   It means exactly what it says. The only “urban” acts I’ve seen get higher reviews are Wayne and Nas, and I did not agree with those particular two reviews (those two albums got good reviews everywhere, so I disagreed with alot of critics on them). I don’t see backpedaling, I see a poster losing a debate and getting desperate (nhjic).

    He’s gonna have to start from scratch though. All that buzz he generated in ‘07 has pretty much evaporated. I had actually forgot he existed until I read your post.

    i co sign. that star power mixtape didn’t get a lotta attention, but it was dope.
    Prince Of The City 2 is really good though… i still bump that. hopefully his new mixtape garners him some more buzz. he’s def someone to watch.

    Coonery said it was a classic. I pointed out that Rolling Stone shared a similar sentiment. No more, no less. Thought it would be interesting to point out, since a couple people (yourself included obvioulsy) were praising the LP. No more, no less.

    I honestly don’t see how you could have taken anything else away from it than that.
