This is the original “Drug Dealin” that Kanye & I recorded in Cali, back in 2k3. Those were GOOD times as we were in the pursuit of happiness!

March 12th, 2009 at 1:42 am
How can you front on The Infamous being one of the illest Hip-Hop albums ever?
What’s bad about it. Go ahead. This is everything east coast rap was at the time, distilled into the perfect album. Production…lyrics…it’s a diamond, no flaws. Conceptually, it never strayed from being the story of some young foul niggas from Queensbridge Projects. No skips, no slow downs, no attempts at crossover appeal.
March 12th, 2009 at 1:43 am
no slow downs

No – sign. Infamous drags in certain spots, particulary towards the middle. Nothing wack, but it does lose momentum.

The only song that could even be accused of that is Q.U. Hectic, but the things that they’re saying on there is enough to engage you for the duration. These cats were spiitting some shit. The album’s focus is what pushes it above the normal gun rap.

Wu Tang. It can be argued that the members of NWA did their best work after the group disbanded. You damn sure can’t say that about the Wu.
And the Wu was more a fluke. We’ve had alot of gangsta rappers, but only one group of 5 percent reading ninjas that use slang that only they understand. How they were so popular during their peak I’ll never understand, but I’m damn sure glad that it happened.

Although I mos def have an east coast bias… I would say, while NWA were pioneers/GOATS of the gangsta rap genre, Wu came with a style that still cant be classified in any one rap genre. NWA members all had similar content, word to Cube writing ALL of Easy’s lyrics. Wu’s members, although they had a lot of similarities between them on 36Ch… branched out in style more and more. ^I don’t know of any good metallic/aggressive. Rock music was introduced to me in 2001 when my white roommate Daniel Erxleben kept playin’ Incubus, Coldplay, and Linkin Park. Nothin’ really aggressive though. So I’ve only been accustomed to laidback alternative.
