DI has more lyrical focus/intensity & more continuity musically
^^
“continuity musically” I can see an argument for. Wu Tang Forever was sprawling as far as production and sequencing, and DI had a specific “sound”.
But more lryrical focus and intensity?!? FOH. Ghost, Rae, Meth, Deck, and GZA in their primes against an album that is 25% Jim Jones verses?!!? Your bugging the fuck out.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
And there are definetly skips on DI. The “Hey Ma” remix? Cam and Santana rapping over that abomination of a Marvin Gaye sample?
===========================================
Speaking of skips…
Wu-Revolution
Maria
Deadly Melody
Duck Seazon
Black Shampoo
Second Coming
& basically every song with a U-God verse gets 5 points deducted lol.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
The music can still ride in today’s time
^^
One, so does Wu Tang Forever.
Two, DI came out 6 years after WuTang Forever. Let’s see if you’re still bending corners to those sped up soul samples in 5 years.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Diplomatic immunity is better for the whip and has a much longer lasting effect. The music can still ride in today’s time. While my favorite wu-tang album is forever, there is just something about that dipset sound that no one has been able to touch.
I’m a ride with the diplomatic immunity
March 10th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
99% of the wu-tang is irrelevant now….If dipset wanted to get back together they could and can still sell records.
March 10th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
@ amp
Never said Wu Tang Forever didnt have skips, so that particular tangent is irrelevant.

===========================================
No one in this thread, but it has been said.
Instead of trying to pick apart what I say, why not actually add something to the convo.
^^
I’m not tryin to pick it apart. I just think that you can’t argue that way if no one in this site would say that. You should try a different angle is all.
I don’t compare them because the Wu & the Dips are in two different dimensions of Hip Hop to me. I listen to both & sometimes I feel Cam is the GOAT & other times I feel like GFK is the GOAT… I wasn’t tryin to jump in.

That’s only going to work as a comparison when Dipset has been out as long. Like I said before, lets see how different the Dips are in terms of “relevance” in 5 years as the Wu is now. That’s the only way that makes sense.
