We desperately need tax cuts. [Along with other things]
Too bad we’ll never see the correct tax cuts made. [Even though they're so obvious]
I wonder why though. All of those very well educated people in the government are so stupid. [Sarcasm]
I wonder why a young man like myself and others can figure that out but they can’t seem to. Hmmmm.
The only explanation I can think of is that they don’t want to. so they come up with all of these retarded pseudo solutions and convince the masses who don’t even care to look into them that they don’t work at all.
Mission Accomplished. [See: George Bush] No problems are solved and more are created so we still need politicians [Legislation Brokers] and people will continue to choose sides which continues the “pendulum” effect while the world crashes down around us forcing all types of mergers. I predict world financial entities first.
I wonder how much longer until the “West Power” forms.
do you believer the majority of democrats in Congress really give two shits about the average American in a way that the average Republican doesnt?
^More so than republicans yes. Granted they are all human and are all looking out for #1…but more progressive (fair) taxation/support for organized labor/larger social spending…these democratic platforms are all much more geared to the average american than anything republics put forth.

^
Pretty much.
I am not naive enough to believe everyone in government is lookin out for our best interests, but I do trust dems on average more than repubs. A lot of politicians are opportunists, but a lot of my morals are in line with that party.
And what part of “small government” does it say that fighting wars that most people disagree with is okay… sounds like a big government made a choice for us.
these democratic platforms are all much more geared to the average american than anything republics put forth.
^^
That goes without saying. I know what they’re supposed to be about. But I wanted to know how how you felt about the actual individuals, which you answered in the statement previous. Which I’m not not gonna argue with.
Smh, im telling you guys that white kids around the world just learned that their mothers should be sucking a black mans toe and you guys are talking about politicians.
Niggas in the ‘jects/hood/urban area pay 500-800 a month on rent, depending on where your situated…so they can splurge on their car
^WOrd to the chick at my job that makes at least $60k, her husband makes about $40k, they live in the jects in coney island in his moms apartment that she has since the 60s paying $500 in rent, with illegal cable.
Bitch owns more pairs of laboutin shoes than attorneys here that make at least tripple her salary
Its not exagerating to say…between bushes war and economic policies, combined with tax cuts…he has most likely shaved 200 years off of America’s global dominance.
China would’ve taken alot longer to surpass us then it will for them to do so now.
Most of the kids I’m public school who had news j’s every month live in the jects. I never understood it at the time but when I started paying taxes I started hating on people in the jects. I know most of them are good hard works but it is what it is.
I think the gov should give people a limit on how long they live in the ject.like if u don’t go the college u get kicked out.
^There are good seeds and bad seeds. Overall I guess the Dems are the lesser of two evils really.
^^
CO-sign
& sleep there are always gonna be people who take advantage of situations & our tax money, but some people & kids benefit from it & turn their lives around.
>>but when I started paying taxes I started hating on people in the jects.
smh, listen to yourself.
i don’t want anybody taking my tax money and splurging either, but that’s not the majority of people who get assistance.
and anyway, everybody has to get over on the system and everybody does. why shouldn’t a kid in the jects have a pair of J’s? if he can figure out how to feed himself and still afford them, then let him do him. because your boy Bush was paying corporate welfare to all of those millionaires and billionaires for the past 8 years, and you best believe that they do eveything in their power to get over on the system in their own way.
pair of J’s in the projects > an Aston Martin “company car”
You can have people from all types of corporations and organizations pander to you and offer you all kinds of things to do what they want.
^^
then when that shit gets old u can go work for those same companies….then u can gp back to washington after that as a lobbyist urself or as the politician u once were…
if he can figure out how to feed himself and still afford them, then let him do him.
^ that’s fuckin retarded. if you’re living in the jects you can’t afford J’s… you save to get out.
sure people should “do” them but i can still call them ignorant
^ straight up. it’s that mentality eskay is peddling that keeps ppl down. materialism wont better you life, esp when your in that kinda situation when materialism is a temporary high
>>that’s fuckin retarded. if you’re living in the jects you can’t afford J’s… you save to get out.
so everybody who lives in the projects has to save every penny they earn until they can afford to move out? what kind of life is that?
Jordans, chicks getting their hair did, going to the strip club <– these are all little things that help you get through life. you can’t tell a kid whose life may suck otherwise that he can’t save up for a pair of kicks so he can maybe get some trim.
that’s fuckin retarded. if you’re living in the jects you can’t afford J’s… you save to get out.
^Negative. Just because you are in a situation where your living conditions and surroundings are subpar doesn’t mean your quality of life has to be subpar.
Negative. Just because you are in a situation where your living conditions and surroundings are subpar doesn’t mean your quality of life has to be subpar.

And caring & busting your ass doesn’t guarantee anything either. I’m able to support myself now, but I don’t think I’ll ever have that aston martin.
Not everyone can make it BIG. someone has to be broke. So we should help them.
barack needs to play up this “messiah” image he’s built up and go visit some of these hoods and jects. . . . nothing, and i mean NOTHING is more inspiring than seein barack obama.
>>straight up. it’s that mentality eskay is peddling that keeps ppl down. materialism wont better you life, esp when your in that kinda situation when materialism is a temporary high
nigga, fuck you. you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. if you’re sitting around, collecting welfare, making babies, and buying Jordan’s then, no I don’t co-sign that lifestyle and I don’t wanna pay for it. but if you work, go to school or whatever and live in the jects because you can’t afford to live elsewhere, which is a very real problem in places like say, Manhattan, then I don’t think you should be told you can’t take your own money and buy something you want. fuck outta here with that Nazi shit b.
Not everyone can make it BIG. someone has to be broke. So we should help them.
^ my girl was on and got off welfare, so i know it helps people. all i’m sayin is that financial illiteracy + a love of materialism in our country is a huge cause of this shit
Negative. Just because you are in a situation where your living conditions and surroundings are subpar doesn’t mean your quality of life has to be subpar.
^ yo a pair of shoes isn’t subpar. that’s like sayin a new Accord is subpar cause you can’t get a Benz. shits stupid
^^
Logic FAIL.
A pair of shoes is nothing compared to having a a decent car or a house.
saving a hundred dollars every six months will get you neither. LMAO @ you thinkin that would work.
but if you work, go to school or whatever and live in the jects because you can’t afford to live elsewhere, which is a very real problem in places like say, Manhattan, then I don’t think you should be told you can’t take your own money and buy something you want.
^ i didn’t say to tell them they CANT, but if they do they’re playin into their own situation
>>all i’m sayin is that financial illiteracy + a love of materialism in our country is a huge cause of this shit
ayo, kick rocks. the issue of materialism in this culture is a whole nother subject. you’re looking at shit all black and white like everybody who lives in the projects is a lazy ignorant waste of oxygen.
A pair of shoes is nothing compared to having a a decent car or a house.
saving a hundred dollars every six months will get you neither. LMAO @ you thinkin that would work.
^ you said they’re livin a subpar life. gettin a honda isn’t subpar. so gettin a pair of kicks from pay less isn’t subpar. i mean if you condone living outside your means then yeah my logic fails
i’m all for assistance, but in some places it’s out of control. living in LA County where about 20% of the population receives some type of monetary assistance from the govt. is just fucking rediculous. some people need that little bit of help but in SoCal there’s a sheit load of people fucking up the system which leads to sales takes being over 8.25%……i need to get it in Va Beach again
a love of materialism in our country is a huge cause of this shit
^^
and thats the essence of this debate…
our problem, eskay et al, is that we define quality of life through things like J’s and females getting their hair did. We feel entitled to those things as Americans because thats whats on TV and we’re the “greatest country on earth”
but people who come from nothing to something know better, they’re often the ones steering clear of those fading pleasures in favor a plan
you’re looking at shit all black and white like everybody who lives in the projects is a lazy ignorant waste of oxygen.
^ never said that. i’m sayin the solution to financial hardship is discipline, dealin with the temporary pain, and saving. the welfare system is geared to keep most ppl down because they never adjust to the huge tax bracket jump and end right back where they started. you twist up my words
# eskay Says:
if you’re sitting around, collecting welfare, making babies, and buying Jordan’s then, no I don’t co-sign that lifestyle
^^
And IMO just because this someone does this does not mean that their neighbor is the same way. You can’t fault that kid just because his neighbor is an opportunist. I’d rather give that money to welfare & pell grant kids than CEO’s
straight up. it’s that mentality eskay is peddling that keeps ppl down. materialism wont better you life, esp when your in that kinda situation when materialism is a temporary high
–So what you saying, that person living in the projects should stay miserable until they earn their way out.
I’d rather give that money to welfare & pell grant kids than CEO’s
^ cant’ argue w/ that. the ill shit is that all these social programs are fucked to the core. the govt can’t do shit right so i’ll never understand why ppl want their hand in all this shit.
>>our problem, eskay et al, is that we define quality of life through things like J’s and females getting their hair did. We feel entitled to those things as Americans because thats whats on TV and we’re the “greatest country on earth”
yeah, thats how you define quality of life, but that doesn’t mean everybody does. some poor white kid may define it as a new bike or something. it all costs money. like Seth said, saving a hundred dollars every six months ain’t gonna buy you a fucking house in the burbs, but it will make the life you’re living more enjoyable. your basic point isn’t wrong, but again, you’re looking at shit black and white.
^ you said they’re livin a subpar life. gettin a honda isn’t subpar. so gettin a pair of kicks from pay less isn’t subpar. i mean if you condone living outside your means then yeah my logic fails
^^
I never said anyone in the hood had a honda. I never saw a new honda until my sister grew up, got a good job & bought one. all the cars I saw prior were minivans & hoopties. Where you see all these project & welfare folks with new hondas?
the point is that even though some kids mom is on rocks does not mean he can’t get some fresh A1′s every six months to a year.
–No you’re talking about materialism in the ‘jects’ and saying that people should save that money to move out. Like if people haven’t already thought of that or like if a nigg saved up for a year he’d be on easy street. Gtfo
your basic point isn’t wrong, but again, you’re looking at shit black and white.
^ my point isn’t wrong, it’s right. your points are valid arguments for ppl that are tryin to deal with a bad situation, but that’s like sayin stickin a needle in your arm will make life bearable.
We feel entitled to those things as Americans because thats whats on TV and we’re the “greatest country on earth”
^ this will be the day America crumbles. when a vast minority doesn’t feel like they live in the same country as a majority.

That is a whole other argument. Having bad schools & being a materialistic country as a whole is another issue from giving kids without opportunity school, food & a roof over their heads.
Its like your saying just because a kid in the projects got some jay’s once he is should get kicked out.
I don’t see ya’ll teaching the hood how to save & better their lives. Its not that easy & until we figure it out I’ll gladly pay taxes & donate my time to help others.
ok, you guys are right, nobody in the fucking projects should ever be allowed to buy a pair of Jordans.
you know what we should do? when you go to buy a pair of Jordans or any pair of kicks over $100, you should have to show ID so the clerk can check your address and be sure you don’t live in the Jects.

i was speaking the royal “we” i dont give a fuck about new j’s or none of that shit…but who is saving for 6 months to buy shoes, a teenager or a grown man? and regardless who the fuck saves for something as useless as shoes..

what’s miserable? not having the new pair of J’s or the illest weave?…..

^ just wanted to chime in and say that my mortgage broker came to America broke, lived in a basement with no furniture for $250-$350/mo. when someone like that tells you they were excited when they found a broken mirror in the garbage to bring home, and they’re drivin around $40k+ finities there’s some truth to what i’m sayin

I mean, other than being illegal discrimination…
Look, there are reasons that food stamps don’t work for pre-prepared food in grocery stores, and there’s very little you could do to prevent someone from spending $100 or whatever on Js if they have the money.
The really good idea is somehow teaching the people who would just blow all the money from McD’s on Js a bit of financial responsibility and having them help themselves. You may not go directly from the poorhouse to the penthouse, but you can get through community college or a four-year school on grants and loans, and that’s a damn sight better than a high school dropout trying to rap for three years on his Foot Locker money.

Not saving for shoes. Keep up.
Saving the money that one would spend on shoes. That will not change anything. Neither will eating in everyday instead of going out one day a week or whatever. a hundred + dollars saved on shoes will not get you out the jects. not even saving the money you could save on a used car note will get you out.
There needs to be a deeper change. And I don’t hear any suggestions…
a pair of Jordans nowadays, that costs $150-200, is not a pair of Jordans when we were kids. $150 is not a lot of money anymore at all.
i think its bullshit to say somebody should save every fucking penny until they can move.
some people live in the projects because they want to. because they grew up there and everybody they know is there. its crazy, but its true. so, they can’t have Jordans either? even though they work for a living?

and I didn’t grow up in the projects and both my parents worked, and they never bought or would’ve bought me a pair of Jordans. I bought my first pair of Jordans last year as a matter of fact.

^^
yes, i did get lost with what we were talkn bout exactly but…
an integral part of that deeper change, which is really nothing more than a shift in consciousness, starts with little things like saving money that may seem inconsequential but contributes to setting a new pattern for oneself regarding how u handle money…crawl before u walk, etc.
damn, this nigga wants niggas eating generic corn flakes too? you’re a savage yo. i bet a pair of Jordans that you’re not that fucking frugal. say word you’re wearing skippies right now.
Don’t act like immigrants don’t ball out at applebees
^Oxy Moron
–Lol. na im saying, you know you see those group of mex’s or haitians or dominicans at some applebees n shit. They are not going to waste that night buy splurging on appetizers, they are going for the steak (saaauce)
My parent use to bust their ass when I was in school and I couldn’t get jordans because after they paid mortagage they didn’t have enough to buy me shit like that.but the kid in the jects had new kicks every month u think that was fair. Honeslty I think the government should have a law if ur living in the ject u can’t own a car. I’m talking bout nyc cause we have an extensive rail system.
okay if you folks have all the answers. Why don’t you go teach all the project people real quick & let us know how that goes.
^ public education doesn’t touch finances. tho i think they are starting to… in ’09. bit late but better late than never. we’re a financially illiterate country, bottom line. even our reps in congress are fuckin financially illiterate, and they got the purse strings. shits disgusting

matter of fact I eat in almost every night. I don’t eat fast food. I wear J’s & I am barely makin it out the hood. I’mbout to buy a house. I just graduated college. I don’t think that buying the $100 A1′s when I was 16 and got some birthday money effected this whatsoever.
& I got through college with pell grants from the government.

Co signs – I would say in order to get out of the Jects you would need a stable good paying job – fast food joints & resturants aint going to cut it. Then again there’s alot of ignorant people in the hood who don’t want to do shit & feels like everyone owes them something. Good point Big Seth. It’s pretty diffucult to leave especially with all the day to day shit that goes on in the hood it’s easy to get caught up in a hussle.
ok, you guys are right, nobody in the fucking projects should ever be allowed to buy a pair of Jordans.

No one is saying the shouldn’t be allowed. [At least I'm not] Do what you want.
I’m just saying it probably isn’t the wisest decision for someone in that financial position to make and that I myself wouldn’t make that decision.
I just don’t understand what Jordan’s or anything else like that would possibly do for you that would be worth your while in that position.
If you like Jordan’s or whatever and you want to buy them then go right ahead.
But you might want to hold off on that purchase until you are in a different financial space.
I would think that 15O dollars would be a lot to someone in “The Hood” in need of government housing, Eskay.
[Except of course if that someone were a drug dealer destroying his/her own community for a dollar]
Idk, maybe I would just be more determined because I would absolutely loathe living in that environment, would want better for myself, and would make every effort possible to hasten my exodus from that environment.
But I do recognize that everyone is different, so. . .
Look, not saying you or anyone else can’t buy shoes or an Xbox or take a vacation or anything like that. There are budgets that allow occasional larger expenditures. But, and corroborate if you know, aren’t there a lot of people in low-income brackets who don’t save a cent, don’t know how?
Part of the reason we’re in a financial crisis is that the housing market was based on credit and lenders who extended loans to people who, if they really knew their finances, would probably have seen that home ownership is a pipe dream. We do very little as a country to educate the kids on how to make, spend, and save money; it was touched on in my high school econ class, but that’s something we often leave to the parents.
The problem there is that if parents are enabling their kids to go spend recklessly or are doing so themselves, it’s just another vicious cycle to fall into.
Songs hot ! cuz everydays christmas ! lol my fav line outta the song. I think the albums coming this spring / may I think , not sure. I am def gonna buy

California
Alaska
All controlled by republicans.

ok, you guys are right, nobody in the fucking projects should ever be allowed to buy a pair of Jordans.
^ just wanted to chime in and say that my mortgage broker came to America broke, lived in a basement with no furniture for $250-$350/mo. when someone like that tells you they were excited when they found a broken mirror in the garbage to bring home, and they’re drivin around $40k+ finities there’s some truth to what i’m sayin

you know what we should do? when you go to buy a pair of Jordans or any pair of kicks over $100, you should have to show ID so the clerk can check your address and be sure you don’t live in the Jects.
^

People in the projects don’t have their priorities straightened out. Simple as that.
I know a lot of Nahrighters are from the ‘jects. no shots…
But buying prada shoes, jordans and gucci with a BMW and Benz parked infront of the project lobby…is not the way to go..
Take that money and move out to a more pleasant area…where they’re good schools and its safe to raise kids…

^^

Co signs – I would say in order to get out of the Jects you would need a stable good paying job – fast food joints & resturants aint going to cut it. Then again there’s alot of ignorant people in the hood who don’t want to do shit & feels like everyone owes them something. Good point Big Seth.
