I disagree, i loved his first album but i think MM2 > Joe Budden. I also loved MM3 and i thought Halfway House has some classic songs and was overall pretty good. It’s hard to exceed standards when you set the bar so high. Padded Room was dope. To each his own.

Anyone that says Padded Room is great is clearly letting their appreciation for Budden as an artist cloud their perceptions of his music. The shit is half assed, yo. Budden is a lazy underachiever & the “internet soldiers” are partially to blame. Why should he step it up if the stans are gonna hail his average work as classic.

It’s all good B. Budden appeals to a niche audience that likes his emo music but on a grand scale, Budden is a good rapper who’s yet to live up to his potential. It’s not about selling out, it’s about making music for everyone, not just the “internet soldiers”. And what’s sad is that Budden has “it”., like few MC’s do. He’s lazy cause he continues to churn out average material & I don’t foresee him ever doing big numbers or geting the recognition & respect that he really wants.

IMO, the album is solid. 6.5-7 outta 10 maybe, which in this climate makes it stay in the rotation a lot longer than anything else released. I’m a Mouse, but I would NEVER say this is a classic. I mean, track 3, “If I Gotta Go” is garbage… only made worse by the coveted track slot. Adrenaline is a half-assed jawn, Happy Holidays isn’t as good as either track with Emanny on MM3. I mean its good, not great. But as AmpGeez said, it’s the internet soldiers (aka the white stans in ‘Sconsin) that allow Joey to get away with good when he is capable of GREAT. It’s really a shame.
