waynes success reminds me of Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers that i just read, in it he deconstructs success from all these different angles and goes through a catalogue of essentials…one of them is practice.

and he talks about people like Bill Gates and the Beatles and writes how practice- meaning time, hours, days, years doing their craft- is what set them apart from their peers and what made though so successful. Wayne’s been at it since he was what, 13? More than anyone doing it right now

^ ^ LL Cool J has been recording albums for Wayne’s **entire life** (starting in 83). By this metric, LL should be light years ahead of Wayne. I don’t think the time you rap is the most important measure, the more important quality is how seriously you take it + how much you practice…after the levees broke and post Carter II, Wayne went into overdrive mode…he took it mega-seriously and his output between the levee break in August 2005 to the present actually supercedes his output pre-Carter back to being in the B.G.z, if you add up all the guest verses, mixtape songs, and officially released joints. In the face of tragedy, dude put his whole label on his back and ran with it to the top. Desire + work ethic + talent = success, not just putting out albums over a long span of time.

my thing with will smith is that he has AMAZING acting abilities but a vast majority of his work has been money making blockbusters that do nothing to showcase his talent. He’ll be remembered like Tom Cruise as opposed to a DeNiro or Denzel simply because of his movie role choices

Will has much greater acting depth and ability than Tom Cruise (although Tom Cruise in Magnolia was ill) and if he had made decisions based on elevating his career as an actor rather than a movie star he would go down in history as more than just a black Tom Cruise and in that sense he sold out…

**”Lost” is how I feel when I watch even a commercial from that jawn…they need to do what “24″ does, and recap what just happened every 15 minutes, or so, lol…

…… while I do agree the twitterenrs fell and act that way I think it’s more like if you twitter your a douche, if you don’t watch Lost it’s your perrogative (c) Bobby Brown but I would by no means say your a douche I would just say you are depriving yourself of an epic groundbreaking TV show that will constantly have you on the edge of your seat in amazement and especially since the end of season 3 till now every new show leaves you more and more impressed, by no means would I say your a douche, maybe you don’t like TV that much, maybe you don’t like a lot of sci-fi shit ( even thought I usually hate sci-fi shit ) or maybe you like to know exactly what is going on at all times and don’t like to let your imagination run wild if any of those things describe you then I can not blame you for not watching he show, now the people who have tried to watch 2 or 3 episodes in the middle of the series and then say it sucks are douches because obviously there is no way they can begin to understand what it going on and will by nature hate it, but beyond everything great I say about the show the acting is probably the best and most natural since the The Wire the banter jokes and tension cutting humor and sarcasm used unparralled by anything else and the plot twists and whose real trying to do good and whose really bad ( the mystery affect ) all make it the best show ever but if you have never watched it I would not call you a douche I just feel you are depriving yourself of hours and hours of amazing entertainment …

***You’re right, they played it at Love- the Cavs were there, though- remember Damon Jones got on the mic and intro’d it, talking shit and what not…Caron Butler was beefing with Marc Barnes over the decision to turn over the club to the Cavs for the weekend, since the Wizards frequented Love (none) all year long- he said he was gonna boycott Love (no abstinence), but that’s the last I heard….
