Speaking personally, BIG is >Pac and everbody else for more than just lyrical ability (although it can be argued that BIG is the most lyrical mainstream MC ever, along with Jay and Em). It was the total package. The lyrical ability mixed with his voice/mic prescence, storytelling ability, and delivery/flow.

Some MC’s are better at these aspects individually, but no rapper was as ill in all categories of emceeing as Christopher Wallace.

I always took Ghost’s “breathless” delivery as a stylistic choice, rather than a technical flaw. And to me, making yourself sound out of breath, while still maintaining said breath (I’ve seen the nigga live) is a pretty dope display of breath control.

And yea, the “hipsters” jumped on Ghost’s jock after Fishscale, but he is def top 5 in my opinion. Supreme Clintele, IronMan, and his contributions on Cuban Linx, 36 and Forever puts him in GOAT convos even if his breath control really did suck.
