Novel – Mad World
Novel dedicates a track to Oscar Grant, the 22-year old Black man who was murdered at the hands of police on the Oakland BART on New Years morning.
And yes, I’m calling it a murder.
Novel says:
So I saw the footage on Oscar grant like the rest of the world and was sadden and shocked by the tragic event that occurred.
If you dont know, Oscar Grant was a unarmed young black male shot in the back by an Oakland Police officer. This song is dedicated to him and his family and anyone who lost someone. This is my take on Gary Jules “Mad World”. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone in anyway for that is not my intention.

i dont know cOLD … i cant think of one song i’d skip on SC … as great as OB4CL is, it gets a little lightweight at the end … they both classics … the production on SC was WuTang at its highest point …
^true, the outro on OB4CL, was 6 mins of Rae talking, but it was like coming down from that extremely intoxicating high of the previous songs. I fucked with SC heavy, I think it had the better production. But OB4CL was more like a Duo album, and you got the best of Ghost and Rae.

The officer who shot Oscar is named Johannes Mehserle, and hes presently under police protection. Since he wants to take the cowards route and not show up to give an account of his actions that night, steps need to be take to flush him out from whatever hole he’s hiding in.I did a little research and found the following:
Possible email address: jmehserle@sbcglobal.net.
eBay account name:jmehserle; this is almost definite because that username made a purchase from a cop store back in April
facebook: Closest connection I could find is Marrika Mehserle, who attend
UC -Davis campus in northern Cali. A cousin, or sister, perhaps?
I also found a Todd Mehserle in northern Cali; based on his birthday he’s possibly an uncle or maybe even his father.
Im looking up contact info on the president BART officers union. Hes been disturbingly silent on this tragedy and is no doubt helping to shelter the sorry excuse for a man tha killed Oscar Grant in cold blood.

i was searching for who filmed the gary jules/michael andrews video of this song today and found page…
i made a tribute music post on my myspace the day after it happened and this was the first song i put on..as well on many bulletins for people far away who may not have seen or heard about it.
it fits the situation , so tragically.
rip oscar -you are in the hearts and minds of so many,
i am so thankful for the cells phones/people who caught this horrendous act
on film,,praying that something good will come from the proof.
in legislature, police policy, and profound changes spiritually to those who took part in
or commited the murder, (while they are paying for what they did , that is.)
