Co-sign how retarded of a move that was. They got greedy. The “I Will Always Love You” single sold a shit load of copies and so did the Bodygaurd soundtrack (just to use an example). They didnt cancel each other out, why the labels started treating them like they did baffles me.

… thats the number 1 rule when getting popped for anything, fight the urge to say anything and keep your mouth shut, because even if your absolutely right and say all the right things it won’t help you cause in front of a judge a cops word is always > a defendants word, best case is just keep quiet and let your lawyer do the talking in court ….

Yeah the industry fucked up…they made so much ridiculous money for a 10 – 15 year span. They didn’t realize how good they had it. EVERYTHING sold…a single on radio almost guaranteed a gold record, no matter how bad the artist/music was.

They probably thought that with technology, if anything was gonna change, they were gonna make MORE money by making all their music copy-proof somehow. Shit blew up in their face.

^Very admissible. Unless you’re sending those IM’s from a public computer where it cant be traced back to solely you, you’re dead in the water. Every computer has an ID that they can trace to see where this computer was when these messages was sent at a specific time. If the computer is registered to your house and they show up and its in your room and the messages are generated at 2:30 in the morning or some other time where more than likely you’re the only one there using it, the circumstantial evidence adds up to you being the responsible party for said messages
