Who said hiphop is lacking creativity? It can’t be, not when we have cats like Juganot getting innovative and making anthems for the husters. That’s some shit the genre has barely touched on. This could be big (ll).

I try to not shit on songs before actually hearing them, so I just actually listened to this, cause who knows? Maybe my pre-judgement was just that, prejudice. Turns out it wasnt, my theory that anyone makingn a song called “The Hustler’s Song” in ’09 that’s not being ironic is wack was 100% true. This sucks.

I used to like Trap Musik better, but I gotta agree. It holds up better than his others. I think it could be mentioned in that argument. I’d have to really think about it to see if it deserves it though.

I think everyone knows that tho. We couldnt look back on the Golden Age if it was still going on. Doesnt mean we can’t expect some dope shit, but yea, we’ll never get an era that produces so many hiphop defining albums.
But this happens to EVERY form of music. Happened to jazz after the white washing, happened to rock and R&B after the mid-70′s, happened to hiphop after Hard Knock Life. I’m just glad I was around for some of the classic shit.

getting pussy and eating are equal on the spectrum.
^^
Word, I see what you’re saying. The survial instinct in its two forms, to sustain self with food and shelter, and preserve self through offspring.

The survival instinct is base, and your physical will do what it can to prevent death with or without your conscious consent in most situations. But I think suicide in and of itself proves that sometimes the mind is enough to override this.
^you make a good point, but can someone take their own life by suffocating themselves… And I dont mean drowning, I mean cutting off the supply dolo.
January 2nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
What’s more Hip Hop than switchin up your style that much and still getting love.
^^
*blank stare*
^^
The Love Below…
That shit is Hip Hop that’s all I’m saying.
January 2nd, 2009 at 3:04 pm
^Yea your right but what should be number one. I’m talking about Drive, force, motive… Naturally minus the matrix, getting pussy and eating are equal on the spectrum.
^^
biologically, getting pussy is #1 because we are wired to spread our seed as much as possible.
which is also why monogamy inherently goes against human nature. so when a nigga cheats and says “i couldn’t help myself”, it’s legitimate.
January 2nd, 2009 at 3:05 pm
I know man…at one point Eminem could have recorded himself taking a shit…pause…and it would have went 5x Platinum, so when he made those wack ass formulated mainstream tracks/albums I gave up on him. I started thinking, maybe that’s who he really is
January 2nd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
To follow up on that cold, if we’re just talking biologically, I think eating is more important than sex.

#1 life purpose- to be a good friend, brother, son, soon to be husband, and eventually father, and all around person.
#2 love and support friends family, etc. (this is close in a sense to #1 but whateva)
#3 learn everyday, something new about life, situations, other people, history, facts, anything and everything I can learn I will and try to learn, to become a better, smart, more well rounded person, and to feel like I am using my mind, body, and time in life in a good, productive way.
#4 Music and the spoken word, arts & entertainment
# 5 everything else, including maintain money and earning money to take care of me & mines.

Let me ask you, if a new artist came out of nowhere and dropped that exact album (the Love Below) and Andre didnt, do you really think you’d consider that hiphop? I don’t think you would. Same deal with 808s and Heartbreak.

I hate when motherfuckers just throw in the obligatory 50/mainstream bullshit in their top lists.
^^
Word, you’re right. Since music is subjective, your favorite list and your best list should be the exact same. If not, who’s making the determination for you?
^^
I concur
but at the same time, That’s why we all visit Nah Right everyday, to converse about Hip Hop.
I interpreted the argument as who has had the biggest influence and 50 has to be there. Influence is not subjective. He influenced Hip Hop heavily. Albums in 2K that changed the focus of the music.

The Love Below is not a hiphop album. But even if I follow your logic, Nelly and Ja Rule had just as much, if not more influence on the singing trend we see today than Andre. So, Nellyville, and Pain Is Love are some of the best hiphop albums of the 2K’s? When was it ever stated that the only qualification was influence?
