as much as i hate to say it i think jay z is the goat
^I see you’ve demoted nasir from #1…lol.
^^^
nah i mean overall without being bias jay just did it better than everyone, he had everyone jocking his style, gunning to be like him, hes got a couple classics under his belt, bunch of #1 records, business within hiphop…ill give it to jay in my opinion, but nas will always be a better mc in my opinion also

and what good is longevity without relevance (I hate that word, but still)? What was LL’s last hit that mattered? I think DJ just kept putting out LL’s records, on some ol’ “fuck it, we already paid him, might as well see if we can get some of our investment back” ish…I guess the same argument can be made for Rakim, but fuck you (none), lol…

LOL, yo as I was reading that I was thinking, “but you can say the same thing about Rakim.” Or Slick Rick, or KRS, or G Rap, or Kane. In fact, L stayed relevant to hiphop at large a lot longer than any of them did and he dropped his debut at least 2 years before.

Yea Digi, I been saying that for years
Jay is the best to ever do it hands down (”it” being the game of the industry)
But I dont think he’s the best MC of all time
Alotta people dont understand that

Whats wrong with catering to females?
^^
Nothing, as long as the music produced from said catering is dope.

^ True.
“Doin’ It” and “Love You Better” are dope. After that, all his songs that catered to the females were shitty, imo.

Busta’s one of the greatest performers(no homo) ever in hip hop
^^
I think an argument could be made that he is THE greatest…
^KRS is top three if not actually #1

I’m surprised that Joe Budden - future song ain’t taking off….it’s a good single for just about anything…..club/pop/radio/rap/……all that shit….I bet if it was three years ago shit would’ve been a hit…..

Krs and Busta do get the most recognition for being the best performers
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:14 pm
I’ve seen both of them and I’d say Busta’s show > KRS’s show
Busta took it by a split second, photo finish, wacky racers style

^^^
jay-z IS the best mover of crowds/master of ceremonies (i.e. Glastonbury) of all time.
you could argue whether he is the best rapper or not…..
but for MCing by definition….he the best.

Rakim > LL
in terms of lyricism…
LL just doesn’t do it like Ra did…
but in terms of longevity and hits/singels and all that shabang, LL > Ra

i got mexicans that live in the hood to the west of me and their 90s streetwear game is so impetuous — not even on some retro shit, but straight up on some “i’ve been playing this t-shirt and jeans for 11 years now with nike cortez with the red swoosh, what? u got a problem?”
