***pretty much…he’s is the template for rappers making pop hits, and his track record/influence is undeniable—but I doubt he’s anyone’s favorite emcee

I don’t know what C. Hamilton said, but LL’s top 15. That position can not be altered no matter what wack shit he drops. I would even say top 10 actually.
KRS-One is my least favorite MC of the GOAT’s, but I understand and respect his signifigance.

This isn’t enough to get you in a GOAT debate? Especially considering L’s longevity?

***Maybe he belongs in the argument, but seriously, does anybody feel strongly enough about LL to make him a first ballot hall of famer? LOL…I was an LL stan, up until like, “Walking with a Panther”, then he lost me with all of that extra sensitive shit—I respect his hustle, and he’s had some hits along the way since then, but that nigga excused himself out of the debate once he decided to cater to the females- same as 50 and Ja..

nah i mean overall without being bias jay just did it better than everyone, he had everyone jocking his style, gunning to be like him, hes got a couple classics under his belt, bunch of #1 records, business within hiphop…ill give it to jay in my opinion, but nas will always be a better mc in my opinion also
word
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
and what good is longevity without relevance (I hate that word, but still)? What was LL’s last hit that mattered? I think DJ just kept putting out LL’s records, on some ol’ “fuck it, we already paid him, might as well see if we can get some of our investment back” ish…I guess the same argument can be made for Rakim, but fuck you (none), lol…
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Whats wrong with catering to females?
Its funny, in Yard artist get crucified for NOT catering to the ladies
“..Mi love di girls, ah fi dem mi cater an mi nar stray..”
December 22nd, 2008 at 12:06 pm
rakim built the temple, nas was the messenger and jay is the manifest
