nah, i would have thought the same because there isn’t any exploitation of Royce or Premier’s hip hop status, but watch this
http://nahright.com/news/2008/10/08/video-royce-da-59-dj-premier-on-shake-this/
then think about it. Royce is on his own, either going in the courtroom, doing his bid, in his mind etc… and then there are his fans that can only hear his music in another place (either time or space). also the only connection he has to his fans is the music they listen to, which is brought to you by Premo who gave him the beat in the first place, which is why he plugged the shit in at the beginning
i think

Rik Cordero allowing people to show visuals to a lot of there music, can’t hate on that. 3 scene changes and nice effects, that’s not bad for an artist that doesn’t have a album coming out in the next 3 months probably.

Yo you can clown on me crazy but i was so confused who D.D lewis is , im sitting her googlin the mother fucker and like some shit is comin up on imdb for an ex football player, it took the comment about there will be blood for me to figure that shit out, but on the real hes one of the illest
this royce shit to me is sooo strong, like i dont know how u cud play this video for someone and have them not be blown away, def a different premo beat, but still great i wish preem would try more shit like this more often. honestly the third verse is dope but shud be longer and have a better overall summary type end, instead of how ur getting sucked in a coupe.
anyone know what it is that rik cordero is doing that every single person does videos with him, i mean are there no other directors out there who put in solid work for not astronomical fees. Also he should be a lil more selective, shit like the arab money video just cheapens his rep, although eskay is right him and busta are hilarious.

i wouldnt really call this a Premo beat … he’s using the same David Axelrod loop (Holy Thursday) that Swizz Beatz used for Dr. Carter … he just added a lttle more drums … very little … David Axelrod’s catalogue is full of beats waiting to happen …
December 19th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Well since land is here, i’ll ask you, are you familiar with ali vegas? If so, do you think charles ham & Ali vegas styles are kinda the same?

… i can see where you could make that comparison … Ali Vegas: “Life In The City” (good song) could have been a Charles Hamilton song … they have similar adolescent, whiney, nasal, vocal tones … Charles just seems alot more intelligent, clever & versatile with his content …

Preem sampled “The Smile” – Swizz sampled “Holy Thursday”. Two different tracks, by the same artist – David Axelrod.
And since Royce got this beat BEFORE he went to jail, chances are that Swizz heard this joint, and decided to make his own version.

^Emphatic bro-sign. We’ve learned that this new generation isn’t the type to be receptive of intelligent rap off the break so you gotta spoon-feed these cats. BK Girl has a great beat and for real, if the dick eaters at Hot97 would push this song it would be NY’s anthem right now. Just imagine how many MC’s would hop on it and make their own version (Queens Girl, Harlem Girl, etc).
The video is sharp. Madd heffas in there, but not in a disrespectful show-off-their-body type way but enough glamorous ones for aesthetics.

Word, but in that urgency, I think he also lost some focus which is why the album and as sprawling and meandering as it is, and why some of the songs just plain don’t work. I don’t think it’s his best, but it’s a lot better than most give it credit for.

***LOL @ TQ, i.e, I would rob TQ, but his shit ain’t sell (c) Curtis::
Too much funny sh*t was going on at Cash Money. I’m sitting at the house in the East one day Wayne comes in and walks over to Baby and kisses him in the mouth. I didn’t just see that so I ain’t gonna say sh*t. When Wayne gets ready to leave, they do it again.
I guess some of them other ni**as recognized the look on my face and ran to the rescue. “T, don’t trip, that’s jailhouse love.” Jailhouse love? What the f**k? Them two ni**as and never been to jail! I’ve sent my fair share of Kites homie and I ain’t never heard of two ni**as kissing as being jailhouse love unless they was… ya dig? That sh*t was disturbing to me pimp. They say it’s a father-son thing. Ni**a I ain’t kissing my daddy in the mouth!
To each his own… I ain’t questioning a ni**a’s sexuality cuz I just don’t get down like that, and I know for a fact that both of them cats like women. But it f**ks me up when them ni**as do that sh*t in public… Everybody always asks me about that picture. Well did y’all forget about 106 and Park?? Ni**a, my neighborhood rode me for months about that sh*t… I had to speak on it cuz y’all wanted to know.

Is it me… or did every NJS R&B video back then have the loft-overlooking-Manhattan backdrop? Even the movie “Boomerang” has the same damn setting. I guess that’s when Blacks started really making money and everybody wanted to live in NYC. Also, most of the NJS artists were from there.

^ a lot of R&B vids had the scene in slow motion of the dude and the chick arguing and she’s throwing his clothes, and hes frailing his arms like Carlton Banks in slow mo.

One of the best songs on Bar Exam 2 and this is THE video? WTF that song is too visual for this effort. Royce needs to see Face – Money and the Power or G. Rap – On the Run to see how a video story is supposed to go.
