The press release also mentions that Amalgam will be relaunching their site to coincide with Padded Room‘s February 24 release. Hopefully they’ll iron out all of the kinks that I’ve heard so many complaints about.

I expect this to be classic. Probably not as good as Mood Muzik 3 but very dope overall. The only complaint I have is that I’m not a fan of albums with few songs in Hip Hop. I feel the more records you put on the album the higher the probability there will be more songs that I’m feeling on it. Three of these songs we’ve already heard snippets of and one leaked. Thats a long wait for 9 songs. I think he should add at least two or three more joints and definitely use the original beat from “The Future” that appeared on the trailer for the song instead of the synthesized, altered, bullshit version they released. Either way I’m sure it will be the illest album out unless Relapse is out and/or BluePrint 3 comes out and actually sees Jay at the top of his game.

He did an interview with Kay Slay about a year ago, and for a large part of that interview, they were discussing album lengths in hip-hop nowadays. They both knocked Common for only puttin out 12 tracks on “Be” and agreed that it was just another way of ripping off your fans.
Slay said that whenever he puts out music, it’s as many tracks as he can get on. Budden agreed to live by that rule for the rest of his career.
“Halfway House” was a joke. Three good tracks (and he’s top 3 of all time to me, probably). Amalgam is a joke too. I paid money for untagged mp3s that I couldn’t download from the site for four days after payment. To this day, I don’t know what guests were on that record.
I hope this is better than that was, but at the same time, I see that the producers used on HH show up here as well.
Still, I’m excited about “Blood On The Wall” and glad to see Dub-B back.
