What can I say? If you don’t see Tribe’s influence on Lupe’s image and content, I don’t know what I can tell you to convince you. Shit seems clear as day to me.

that means you have to credit tribe for the whole chicago rap scene….cause first and foremost….lupe raps like the po-pimps…which has a similar vibe to tribe but the whole chicago music scene is smoothed out except for crucial conflict…

even kanye has that similar flow to lupe’s in some raps….when twista raps on smooth slow jams type songs…its that smoothed out ace of spades type flow which chicago has produced….

yes lupe and tribe are similar in some aspects but lupe aint get his style from tribe….q-tip is a mellowed out b-boy who’s light and fun….lupe is a repressed gangster turned sorcorist with lyrical tenacity…..both just have that mellowed out vibe
