“(White) Rapper Show” contestant Persia has been convicted on a gun possession charge in New York and has taken to her MySpace page to ask her fans to plead in her defense.

Persia, known for her stint as the aggressive female MC on VH1’s “ego trip’s (White Rapper) show,” wants her fans to write to the District Attorney before she gets sentenced tomorrow (12/12).

“I am appealing to my fans and asking everyone to write letters to the D.A. in hopes that he will reconsider the 3 1/2 yr sentence,” she wrote in a December 5th post. “I am due in for sentencing on Dec 12th and every letter will help.”

The songs you mentioned are HOUSE music, not CLUB music. Major difference. Though House music did ultimately spawn Club music, it is NOT the same (c) roots reggae birthing dancehall. I can dig in the crates and put on some old Scottie B club mixes that had CLASSICS. Frank Ski ushered in the movement and it has been flourishing ever since (c) Da Bricks jackin’ our music. I can admit that the new songs are lame and mostly for the kids, but back then it was more raw and rugged. I’m telling you, our legacy as a subculture in hiphop will surpass go-go’s by a LONG shot when it’s all said and done.

I’m not just reppin’ B’more when I say that. I definitely think our sound is superior when when mentioning hiphop sub-cultures. We’ve already spread to other places:

Philly
Delaware
DC (in some clubs)
Jersey
NYC (some clubs)
Oakland (a DJ has already sampled Club for a J*DaVey record)

And that’s without having a major producer to loop our joints for recognition in pop songs (c) Rich Harrison

How far had go-go actually spread? If we’ve spread further than yall in the new millenium, then obviously our sound is more familiar with others than gogo.
