    ^ ^ you need to research that paper again. there was no evidence definitely* pointing to her killing anyone. in fact, there was evidence presented that assata was shot under the armpit which means (a) she was shot with her hands up and (b) that it would have been almost biologically impossible for her to return fire because all the muscles you need to raise your arm are located there (i guess you could argue she shot with the arm that wasn’t shot, but even that being the case if you fired back after being shot while you were unarmed with your hands up, that’s self-defense like a motherfucker…not to mention they killed zayd shakur while he was unarmed as well). but guess what! if memory serves, there was no ballistics evidence showing that she had fired a gun in the incident at all!

    pretty hard to wage a shootout with bullet wounds in each arm.

    that entire trial was a farce.
