That song sucks, but that’s a subjective opinion. I’ll leave it at this. Regardless of how you feel about Hov’s recent material, you have to agree that he isnt the same MC. His delivery has switched from methodical to melodic. Instead of effienciency with words, he utilizes more extended metaphors now. The dopest thing about Hov to me was his condesension. He rapped liked he was amused/disgusted that he had to rap to explain his worldview, and he barely did. The “im talking to you” flow on Vol 2 and 3 hasnt been matched or duplicated by an MC since. Now he raps like he loves rapping, and that’s cool, but its not the Jay-Z that became the greatest.
It’s simply this, I don’t like Jay’s new rap style. He’s the GOAT, no question. But I don’t dig the new shit, not because of content, but because of technique.

^I was goin’ for the EXACT same reason. I still wanna Benoit myself for “losing” my one-of-a-kind skullie I got from the Army/Navy store on 8th in Manhattan. My and the homies stepped out of the whip last year after we parked and was about to go to Red Maple. Like an idiot, I decided to stash my skullie by tuckin’ it in the spare tire in the back of some random Kia because I didn’t feel like walkin’ back to the whip, knowing they probably wouldn’t let me rock it in the club. Needless to say when we got out the club the Kia was gone and so was my skullie. That hat was so PERFECT, because it blended with all of the earth tones so I used rock it religiously during the Fall/Winter. Lazy scheme fail.
