Video: KRS-One & DJ Kid Capri Speak On “The Real Hip Hop Network”
Even Fox News is having a hard time believing this channel is going to be fair and balanced. Did Cavuto almost call Capri “Kid Cudi”?
I missed the part where it stopped being about Imus, what do my lyrics got to do with this shit

@ DS do u really think hip-hop still reflects the hood when jimmy iovine and other wealthy caucasoid TIs are the ones controlling the biggest releases [||]. let’s be serious. even NWA had jerry heller (the late 80s/early 90s iovine) putting them out and helping to shape the message. then you got acts like dead prez spitting that real shit and low and behold they never see the light of day commercially. i mean i could go on and on but i would say that a small fraction of hip-hop reflects the hood and the rest just contributes to the hood being mired in crime and repression. that said, i still fux with jeezy because i’m quite simply an ignint ass mahfucker *i’m amaaaaaazing*

^ ^ what the fuck are you talking about? did the hood change from the 60′s when cities were getting burned down while motown was putting out singing groups to now when murder rates went through a decade long decline in the 90s but the number of rappers claiming to be a killer kept rising? hip-hop has never been controlled by reality in the hood…otherwise there would be as many baby sitting grandma rappers and working two job mother rappers and food stamp rappers as drug dealer rappers…FOH.

more directly BLACK MUSIC has never been controlled by reality in the hood
in fact, the general trend in black music is towards escapism, not documentary work.
hip-hop is no different.
yeah, every now and then we get a ‘what’s going on’ or a ‘it takes a nation of millions’ but that shit is the exception to the rule
