I see the industry smartened up and decided to push a couple albums to the next year. I work retail hell on black friday. This by far was one of the worst turn-outs I’ve ever seen in almost a decade of doing it. People trying to save back for hard times and I’m one of them.
Nothing ever drops in January and usually it’s the 2nd to 3rd week in February when something major drops. The last time an album successfully dropped in the 2nd month of the year was, if I recall, The Game’s 1st cd.
The only problem I see now is the little drought period between Jan-May. On average their may be 3-4 worth buying releases in that time frame.
Hopefully now that Jada, Jay, Em, 50cent, & Dre(Neveruary 32nd) aren’t clogging up the 4th quarter, they don’t pull a summertime or dare I say Fall release next year.
And hopefully Face & ‘nem still drop some heat next month.
