    @ Billz- I believe it, but I can’t confirm- he kind of talks about how he doesn’t get any love in DC, on the Mixtape About nothing- that last track, he says that Angie Ang was taking shots at him saying he wasn’t DC enough, while not playing his music…DC has a long track record of not supporting his artists, though, which is why a lot of people don’t know Marvin Gaye is from here, and think Martin Lawrence is from NY, lol…

    ^Sounds like the B’more effect. Being that B’more/DC were once densely populated with Black people, everybody looked/talked/dressed/though alike and consider you a “sell-out” when you’re not doing/saying the stereotypical things they expect from you. I mean, do they want the dude (Wale) to come out rockin’ some Flightposites, windbreakers, and dreads with nothin’ but backyard tracks? (No shots) Same in B’more. And it’s worse in B’more because we’re the “Dirty North” and have a complex about who and what we’re supposed to be representing. And anything that you do outside of the Baltimorean norm gets scrutinized until one of the neighboring cities do it and then it’s ok. Just being a regular dude not involved with entertainment I can tell you the reactions I get when I’m around locals because of the differences, which stemmed from steppin’ outside of the city every now and then. I could go on forever but you get the point…

    And for the record, Wale still hasn’t topped “Hey Lookaway” yet. LOL
