    He had the streets’ attention after Stillmatic & Made You Look, and he used it in a very positive way.

    i definitely agree that r&b isn’t what it used to be. personally, i’m more of a soul/funk dude than r&b anyway… from the commercial motown sound to the philly soul sound to funk groups.. i seem to connect to the musical feel a bit more.

    when it comes to rap, i think there’s alot of good music coming out now… whether it’s albums, mixtapes, or loose songs. i think the feeling that hip hop is whack now is attributed to age/development of the fans vs. the genre.

    remember, during the “golden age” of the mid nineties, real old school heads who were teens during krush groove and rapper’s delight were complaining about the genre. they just had different types of complaints.
