T.I. Testifies in Murder Trial
Tip took the stand earlier this morning at the Hamilton County Court in Cincinnati as a witness for the prosecution in the murder trial of Hosea Thomas, the man accused of shooting his childhood friend Philant Johnson to death in May of 2006. He told the court that he felt like the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him and he described what happened inside the van he was riding in during the shootout between Thomas and his camp.
T.I. says he took cover in a van when it was struck by bullets during the chase. He described seeing his friend after their van pulled over. He said Johnson was lying lifeless, blood running down his face from a shot into his left temple.
Padron Thomas, 40, told officials he was driving the Jeep as his brother, Hosea, fired the shots at the vans. At least one member of T.I.’s crew returned fire.
In exchange for Padron Thomas’ testimony against his brother, prosecutors have agreed to drop murder charges against him, allow him to plead guilty to manslaughter and have any sentence he receives in the case to run at the same time as a federal prison sentence.
So apparently, some people read my last post about this trial and somehow got the idea that I was in one way or another promoting the “Stop Snitching” agenda because of my disgust over Padron’s deal with the DA. That is certainly not the case. The fact of the matter is, every single situation is different and if you put aside your own personal feelings and analyze this particular case you’ll see examples of both sides to the argument. It’s my personal opinion that a blanket stance on the matter either way is irresponsible. If you feel that every citizen should cooperate with law enforcement in every situation, no matter what, then in my opinion you are severely naive and misinformed. At the same time, the idea that nobody should ever talk to the cops under any circumstances, no matter what, is absurd.
Two things to keep in mind when considering the subject of “snitching”:
Civilians don’t adhere to the same rules as people operating on the other side of the law, and vice versa.
All law enforcement officers and organizations do not have your best interest at heart.
That is all.

19-year-old Commits Suicide on Justin.tv
In a striking display of the power of live video, Abraham K. Biggs committed suicide on Wednesday while broadcasting himself on video site Justin.tv. As we understand it from various forum posts, the 19-year-old Floridian was apparently egged on by commenters on Justin.tv and fellow forum users on bodybuilding.com. Biggs overdosed on pills while on camera and appeared to be breathing for hours until watchers realized he might be serious, at which point they alerted the police. The video kept running until police and EMTs broke Biggs’ door down and blocked the camera’s view.
We confirmed Biggs’ death with the Broward County medical examiner. The Justin.tv video and many of the forum posts have been taken down.
When asked about the broadcast via email, Justin.tv CEO Michael Seibel said:
As for the broadcaster incident last night, we don’t comment on individual videos, however, our policy prohibits inappropriate content on Justin.tv. We rely on the community to flag videos that they feel are objectionable. Once a video is flagged, it is reviewed and quickly removed from the system if it violates our Terms of Use.
We won’t post the disturbing content here, but much of it is still online. Images of the broadcast have been posted here and here, and there’s also a suicide note from Biggs, who went by the screenname CandyJunkie. An account of forum users watching the broadcast and calling the police is here. There are also rest-in-peace comments on what appears to be Biggs’ MySpace page. The Justin.tv broadcast used to be here.
The contention that filming and uploading (and even hosting video of) a crime is a crime as well might not be valid, but given the very nature of live broadcasts, the issue becomes more complicated.
And it’s not as if technology enabled the taking of a life, or as if this hasn’t happened before. A British man hung himself last year after allegedly being goaded on by fellow users on Paltalk, another live video site. There was even a widely distributed movie on the topic of live-streamed killings released earlier this year called Untraceable. But last night’s incident raises a thought-provoking question regarding free hosting of live broadcasts — what could sites like Justin.tv possibly do to prevent live-streamed snuff films?
Justin.tv has already come under fire for another problem with live broadcasts — copyright infringement. The Premier League is reportedly threatening legal action against the site over unauthorized broadcasts of soccer games. Justin.tv, which is a free service, has maintained it complies with takedown requests according to the law — but with live broadcasts, the key event often ends before lawyers can get involved. Or in Biggs’ case, before people who care about him could get through.

^^ iight check it i grew up in the hood all the skools i went to was in the hood.. but when i went to high school my parents put me in a private skool.. it was still in the hood but most of the kids from the skool werent from the hood they lived in canarsie (brooklyn suburbs for blacks)… and in skool they would act tuff they “all” suppose to be in “gangs” and what not… but 1 block away was the worst public highschool in brooklyn and after skool all these so called canarsie gangstas got super soft… “wat a surprise” now that what i mean by acting hood… buz there was to many times when i seen hood situations arise and it was clear as day they were confused when u in a hood situation and u not from the hood and u act like u r u gone get exposed real quick
