Video: Talib Kweli on Sound Session
The MCEO himself, Talib Kweli, stopped by KUBE 93 in Seattle on 10-5-08 to make his 4th appearance on Sunday Night Sound Session with DJ Hyphen and J. Moore. The trio talked all about his current projects, including updates on the next Reflection Eternal album, his Idle Warship group with Res & Graph Nobel, and all things Blacksmith. They also discussed what it’s like to operate his own label, how new media has affected his career, a little politics, and more.

closed minded mothafuckas… 808s is genius, I thought The Renaissance was the only album i was going to pay for but 808s deserves my 10bucks
My only criticism is redoing robocop… you can barely hear the robo noises.
Theatre of the mind is crack too, Luda is gunning for a top 5 spot. Seriously!

what about Illa J “Yancey Boys” and Little Brother “Separate but Equal”, both of those albums are well worth the coin.

yo Ms. Diva…thats why i dont be on DX anymore, I might read some of the blogs, but hell if I read or add my own comments…they lost they cot damn minds on the DX blogs. I use to be a regular original DX c-section cat but it started gettin real crazy(in a bad muthaf’n way) a year or so ago and I finally jsut took my comments and random talk on music, life, etc over to Nah Right and 2DopeBoyz.com. After me and some of the other original DX compadres left these crazy guys came in here and took this blog commenting section over. But then a while back I was gonna get back to commenting on the DX blogs but I realized a bunch of straight up retards and lil dumb young’ns only comment saying fart, cunt, and fucks all the time. So Amanda your gettin randomly hated on like Meka has been for the past like 3 or so years and like how Shake had that Shake The Racist situation when he started blogging…ya dig.
All in all, DX managment needs to clean these cats up on here, ban some people, and possible have some weird age verification sign up…because cats under (and amazingly sometimes over) the age of 18 or so cannot conduct themselves right…and flat out say crazy nasty stuff and hate. The World of the InterNUTS…keep your head up Amanda.
One.
p.s. - I do talk some crazy nasty random ish…but thats on Nah Right…we a bunch of crazy fools over there.

LOL @ all the 808s hate. . . .
that album is revolutionary.
it’s about time niggas break out of the fuckin mold. . . this is why kanye, for the record 4th album in a row, will be getting my $10.
only artist in history that has successfully gotten me to cop.

no, i can say it’s a good CD. . . it’s incredible.
people fear that which they don’t understand. . . and i understand this CD. it’s from the heart. it’s not what you’re used to hearing from kanye. . . there’s minimal:
-i’m the best
-look at my jesus piece
-where the white bitches?
and therefore, you’re just like “what the fuck?”. Niggas don’t fuck with it b/c of the autotune, but the shit doesn’t bother me.
here plug, try this: don’t try to think of this as a “rap CD”. if you do, it won’t really fit the genre and you’ll be like “well, this isn’t what a rap CD is supposed to be, so it’s trash.”
November 20th, 2008 at 8:50 am
^Aren’t in you Kenya?
^No. And its not a debate TI makes better songs and albums. Luda is a precise rapper, always on beat and has punchlines. But 80% of the time he’s better as a cameo artist on other people’s tracks.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:51 am
I havent heard 808’s yet, but I’m gonna cop. If for no other reason than the fact that all his other CD’s are borderline classics, and that type of consistency deserves a retail purchase. With that said, I’ve heard all the leaked joints. They’re all dope. No way they’re wack. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Shit is not genuis or groundbreaking either. Its just synth pop. Same shit Phil Collins was doing. Just with hiphop incorporated. No need to shit on it. No need to call it something its not.
What’s good Nah? *daps all that are within reach to dap*
November 20th, 2008 at 8:58 am
T.I. is the most uninteresting superstar hiphop has ever produced. In any other era, this guy wouldnt to rise this far. He’s not a bad MC, he’s actually dope, he’s just more workmanlike than transcendent. He’s makes decent to real ill hits and some pretty uninteresting album cuts.
Luda couldve been a GOAT. But like I’ve said before, he went Hollywood one album too soon. What I’ve been hearing from Theater of the Mind has been dope, but it’s still has a corniness to it that’s impossible to overlook, and he can’t exuse the past two albums.
TI’s definetly been >> since around ‘05, but when you look at total careers, it might be too close to call.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:00 am
lol. I didnt know so many people like that 808 mess. for one, autotune sucks. two Kanye’s singing sucks. three, the beats suck. I give him credit for sprinkiling the massive bassin there but there no amount of bass. (never thought Id ever say that)
I was bending corners wit these chicks Saturday. I thru the kanye in the player. the chicks was like “this sounds horrible! what is this mess??!?!” I told them that it was the new kanye. they was heated.

^Luda trumps him on boringness, but i hear the argument. The thing that TI has is a certain level of integrity that puts him above the pale. And Luda has never put together a solid album.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Ludacris albums are like the movie “cast away”. You wanna witness it once. but after one time you never wonna see/hear it again… so you take it and put it back into the case until the memorex cd warps to never be listened to again
November 20th, 2008 at 9:05 am

In all honesty, I can’t answer that question. The great car break ins of 2003 and 2005 left me with a decimated collection. I can say that I havent had the urge to re cop any of them.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:16 am
^I still own King, and that shit gets no burn. I used to have Urban Legend on my I-Pod, and yea its real dope, and I always thought Trap Musik was overrated. It’s good, but I honestly can’t call that shit great. But like I said there’s no doubt that while TI’s been at his peak, Luda’s been scraping the barrel. The winner would be alot clearer if Luda had blow up two years later, or TI two years earlier, that small window makes all the difference.

Niggaz’ll coast in the S.L. but can’t post bail
Niggaz’ll roast the L
But scared to throw your toast well
I’m here to tell niggaz it ain’t all swell
It’s heaven then its hell niggas
One day your cruisin in ya seven
Next day your sweatin forgettin your lies
Alibis ain’t matchin up bullshit catchin up
Hit with the RICO they repo’d your vehicle
Everything was all good just a week ago
Bout to start bitchin ain’t you
Ready to start snitchin ain’t you
I forgive your weak ass hustlin just ain’t you
Aside from the fast cars
Honeys that shake they ass at bars
You know you wouldn’t be involved
With the underworld dealers, carriers of mac-millers
East coast bodiers, West coast cap peelers
Little monkey niggas turned gorillas
Stopped in the station filled up on octane
And now they not sane, and not playin
That goes without sayin
Slayin day in and day out
With money playin then they play you out
Tryin to escape my own mind
Lurkin the enemy
Representin infinity
With Presidencies you know

Chad Blue, 28, told police he had known Wright before the September 2006 shooting, but that the men weren’t friendly. He testified companions egged Wright on as he chased and shot his victim in the thigh and groin.
Later, Blue told police he recognized Wright’s voice on a CD, rapping “Chad Blue knows how I shoot.”
