Top ten
Ghost (Please he never eclipsed commercial success as a solo artist, ask your girl to name 3 ghost songs)
Pun ( a lyrcist, but thats it, died to soon
Jay obvious the great
Nas lets be serious he vanishes every 2-3 years and thats a fact, but he is in the top 5
Joe Buddens (please, dude has one album in almost 8 years)
Kiss (has no where near a classic)
Big (cant argue that, but his early demise is his only hangup
Busta (gtfoh)
3k (cant argue this either, but all his album were in a group, so many time he was not required to carry entire albums,
Face (Please he never locked down entire regions and this includes the south

Reason is hip hop has a street element, punch line, story telling and COMMERICAL SUCCESS and thats something he has not had
You also have to understand with alot of mixtapes, many of the beats are already used and its easier to write or construct ur flows alone the line of the originial song….
Also to be a great artist you have the ability to pull someone who is not a hip hop fan in and i dont think Joe has eva dont that (except for pump pump it up)

but I don’t understand why mixtapes don’t count- music is music, who gives a fuck about the method of distribution…
^It’s not just about the distribution, it’s about the direction the artist take it on mixtapes, they have more freedom, but albums are more thought out from a creative stand point.
Nigger tape > Untitled
And they was based on the same topic, but the blending added, the mixing, the shit that can’t be released on albums because of clearance, etc makes mixtapes great, but they can’t be used in a G.O.A.T debate.

Chilly’s the guy Lupe was moving heroin with right? Lupe is hilarious. Most artists are altar boys and rap about being gully. Lupe is gully and raps like he’s an altar boy (no getting called to the back by the priest). Brillant.
^^^^^^^^^^…lmfao, not to many are up on that, when he (Fiasco) took the stand, he testified that a taped conversation about splitting red and yellow tops was about mixing down music trax..lol.
On another note, the video above is from “The Testimony of Gemstones”….dope mixtape it was like an album, “Untamed Beast” was cool too….I don’t know too many artist that can sing and rap like this dude!
