1 – dow is under 8,000. that is terrifying. basically what you have baked into that price is the belief among a vast majority of investors that this will be the longest and most painful recession in recent memory
2 – core prices, excluding food and energy items, fell 0.1 percent — the first fall in more than 25 years
3 – new home starts – lowest since 1959
4 – car sales plummeting so rapidly that big 3 probably don’t have cash to finish out the year
5 – deflation very likely. asset prices keep falling and nobody buying
and more and more and more and more. shit’s disgusting. every day we wake up to more pain. i don’t know when the bad news will stop.

all jokes aside though Chea niggas don’t really understand the magnitude the economic slump is potentially going to have on the economy because they don’t know recession to depression is a slow process. poor Obama signed on to lead the country at one of if not its most inopportune (sp) time. Roosevelt spent 16 years as president trying to find a resolve for the great depression and what we’re going through now is potentially worse…shit is scary, i’ve been tryin to find ways to protect my neck but my portfolio aint that strong yet.

it’s getting to a point where it’s hard to miss though. all throughout the south side of the chi – foreclosures, boarded-up cribs, sale signs, abandoned cribs. bush was so quick to create an “ownership” culture among people that had no business being homeowners and now those people are out their money and their house when they could have been renting a modest home and investing a nest egg. i am truly terrified of the long-term ramifications of the real estate crisis on a lower class that was duped into buying homes. shit i was reading the other day about a jamaican woman in queens who had a tiny income who owned FIVE townhomes because her bank kept coming to her saying how cheap they could lend her the money. now she’s out all the homes, credit destroyed, etc etc. i mean truly awful. the desperation has not yet begun but it is inevitable. crime will most certainly increase — as it always does in times of economic difficulty — and from there, who knows. not trying to sound apocalyptic, but the potential here is bad, bad, bad

i actually don’t really eff with anything past jordan 7 (unless it came with a countdown pack – i.e. the ones that came with the carmines and the hares), but the 23s have a little magic to them. i haven’t bought any 23s yet but the unc/chicago/motorsports pack is ill and these breds are ill. clean and futuristic with a small nod to the past. they probably won’t be classics but they have a little swag on ‘em

This is my first comment and can i just say that you guys at nahright have enhanced my life thouroughly (sp).
Anyways, I was reading your comments about the economic downturn, collapse, recession etc and thought I’d add my tuppence. Being a student with the student loan system means that I’m going to be paying off £21,000 plus in around two years time. Doing economics you’d think that I won’t find it too hard to get a job, but when you think people in the service sector will deffinitely be cutting jobs, training and recruitment the future really is not that bright even for those with higher education.
Anyways, thank you nahright for enabling me to enter a world of new hip hop and intelligent thinking by black people.
