I turned being a Hip-Hop head into a career. if you’re not at least a part time Hip-Hop head you can kill yourself as far as I’m concerned.
**For real, that’s a good look…I envy people who can pursue their passion (none) as a means of making loot…and “part time hip hop head”? I thought it was eskayeverydaynodaysoff (c) random white kid’s website, LOL

I dont know how a grown men can explain their infatuation with HOV…and you 30 years old with kids….like how you explain that when you on the block to the niggas you kick it with?
^^
why cant you’’ll be 30 and a serious hip hop head. You basically been listening to it ya whole now you wanna switch taste cause you a certain age. Thats not being true to your self. If you switch ya taste cause you dont dig anymore thats cool but it sound like niggas force them self not like rap anymore cause they not consider young anymore

>>The same reason why people want to be a casual sports fan and a casual fisher, hunter etc….most people aren’t hip-hop heads….thats really not something to be bragging about anyway, cause it doesnt translate to something substantive for life purposes…..most people like to listen to other kinds of music and not just rap….. hip-hop heads don’t determine what is hot anyways.

Eskay you run a business and as far as I’m concerned….you’re like 1 out of a million which means you’re the exception….most hip-hop heads ain’t profiting off hip-hop…at least the ones who have NO ties within the music industry. You made your career by being able to have the products out before anybody else could get it and using the most up to date and cutting edge tools to give out that product, not just by vast knowledge among the hiphop kingdom….

***That’s dumb- white people listen to rock and roll their whole lives- the Rolling stones are touring at 70 something years old, with baby boomer generation fans shelling out $200+ a ticket- what, when niggas hit 30, we’re supposed to all of the sudden start listening to the Quiet Storm? LOL

Rap is basically a young man’s sport…so the older you get the less likely you are inclined to be rocking with the new generation…I mean your generation of rap music will be considered oldies, and thats what we have just like our parents listen to old songs of their youth…they dont particularly care for the songs of today and its understandably….
Rock is different in that older people are welcomed to rock out and listen to rock past the age of 40….hip-hop has always been deemed a young man’s sport and mad niggas calling niggas “old heads”…..I mean rappers are always dissing jay cause he 45 years old

You can’t hit the clubs like you used to when your 30…..
You’re supposed to be settled down, family oriented….
30 is not the new 20…..don’t get it misconstrued….
It baffles me everytime I see a 40 year old in the club…
like “Eww….what are you doing here?”

I don’t think i’ll be listening to rap when i’m in my mid 30′s, it’s already hard enough to listen to music like how I use to when I was a teenager now. I don’t expect it to get easier either, lol

It depends on what type of club….30 year old people still like to go out too, maybe the market isnt there yet for 30 year olds and up clubs….but if you’re 40 hanging out in an 18 and up….you need some counseling

Ike, Lil Ci-Ci,C88S88, Boosie, SC,CO,Joe88, BH, atcq and the rest.
I’m a first gen Hip-Hop head, and I “profit” off of Hip-Hop because I get paid to D.J. at some events where Hip-Hop is mainly played. I cut and scratch, which is an element of Hip-Hop d,jing and I’ll do it WELL into middle age. My childrten already know to bury me with my head phones wrapped around my head and my promo copy of “Grand Master Flash On the Wheels Of Steel”.

***Nigga, you’re gonna be 30 in a couple of years- so, it’s gonna be all family board game night, the Cosby Show and warm cocoa with the kids once you hit a certain chronological age? GTFOH…I got married young anyway, at 23- most niggas would say that was too young, but my marriage has outlasted all of theirs- what’s wrong with niggas having their own timetable and tastes-as far as what they do, family status, and who or what they listen to? Everybody’s always so damned prescriptive and judgemental about what the next man is supposed to do, when niggas don’t have their own lives and priorities in order….

well if you get booted out its because you choose to get booted out. That whole get old and do certain things is just excuse to sticking to script of what people tell you you should do. Some people just dont age well i guess

I worked on this video. It’s the same mansion we used in “Game’s Pain” f. Kesha Cole directed by Rage. 3-6 is hella cool and my girl Tiphani “Tracklegs” Abney (www.myspace.com/tiphaniabney) looks hot…Big ups to my man Kevin Shulman for directing this, bringing me on as a 1st AD and OJ da Juiceman for keeping the kush burning all day!
