    Marc Clarke Gone From 92Q, Rickey Smiley Coming – 11/6 – DCRTV broke the news earlier today. Marc Clarke (right), host of 92Q’s “Big Phat Morning Show,” has gotten the axe. Along with producer Sonjay Decaires. Their last show was today. We’re told that they’re the victims of a budget cut by the slumping Radio One. If you go to the show’s page at 92qjams.com, you’ll find a “DJ not found” message. Clarke came to Baltimore’s urban contemporary WERQ, 92.3 FM, in 1999 to do the morning show with co-host Troy Johnson, who got bounced in 2006. By the way, Johnson also got canned this week from his midday talk gig at CBS’s 105.7, WHFS, which flipped to sports talk WJZ-FM. Look for 92Q to pick up the Rickey Smiley syndicated show for mornings, starting next week. According to wjz.com, WERQ General Manager Howard Mazer says the change was a corporate decision. It’s part of cost-cutting measures designed to save the station bucks. But some fans think it’s a bad move. “I have no idea why they would do that especially because he is so popular. He’s kind of like a staple for somebody to up and get rid of him. It makes no sense,” a listener told WJZ. Clarke is married to Channel 5/WTTG reporter Allison Seymour…..

    Yeah man, they kept playin’ the Rickey Smiley commercials all last week sayin’ that his new show would be on the air starting this week. It’s kinda fucked up what happened to them. I need to get in touch with one of the homies because he knows Kathy Hughes personally. On the other hand, I got so sick of wack ass Porkchop on the morning show. I never really listened that frequently, but when I did listen I couldn’t stand hearing his ig’nant, corny ass. Sanja will always have a job as one of my resident concubines, if need be.

    ^Yeah, and according to one of my homies Kathy Hughes came up there with a check book and bought it out PRONTO. I mean, many say it was no advertising space. But the word I got from dude was that she basically wrote a check for everybody’s salary, fired them that day, and copped it. Can’t verify the validity but he say she is ruthless on the business tip.

    ***Co-sign- he always took over the show, kind of like Chris Paul does on Donnie Simpson, only not funny…co-sign Sonjay…they did the same shit in DC a couple of years ago, when George Wilborn’s local morning show got replaced by Steve Harvey’s syndicated one…I liked the Big Fat Morning show, though….
