Common Has Excellent Taste in Blogs

From his new interview with Complex:
Complex: How Internet savvy are you? Do you read blogs?Common: I’m starting to get into it more. I’m about to launch my website it’s called ThinkCommon.com. I’m going to be on it a lot more. I don’t really be on websites, or blogs. Sometimes when I release something I like to see what they’re talking about, but I’m not on them much. I definitely think Nah Right is cool. I also like Hypebeast. I like both of them.
Just for that I might stop calling him Lonnie and revert to Rashid. He also speaks on his new album, and tries to front like he’s not serving Serena in straight sets.

Hmmm…I mean Com definetly roasted him in the battle. And since Cube hasnt really been dope since ‘94 (with the possible exception of the first Westside Connection album), Common is also more consistent. But as good as Like Water and Be are, they’re just not in the same stratosphere as Straight Outta, AmeriKKK’a, an Death Certificate. So Cube crushes him and impacfullness and classic albums. Tough one. Common is underrated (he’s probably a Top 15 GOAT at least), but I gotta give the nod to Cube on this one.
So, with that said, no-sign.

I don’t know man, wasnt the album he dropped last year the best selling independent album of ‘07. I mean, he’s not as relevant as Common, but using your example of people from Common’s era not being relavent anymore, that applies tenfold to people from Cube’s era. Common has a couple peers still in the game to an extent, the Wu, Nas, Red, etc. Who still dropping albums that had a hit in ‘88?

^ im not sayin cube aint nice but im a typical new yorker and cube aint that lyrical.. and i like lyrics so he dont appeal to me (pause) as nicer than common
i use to love H.E.R. > today was a good day
^Son for your sake, leave it alone. You are not helping your cause. Its cool to like Common more than Cube, but you’re insulting that man. Cube is the truth.
*Makes mental note to go buy Death Certificate and Lethal Injection on the way home*
^^ nope my opinion is my opinion.. and if u buyin shit pick that new q-tip up too i’ll give u the bread back
common lyrically > cube
cubes impact on the game > common.. i really dont care what yall say to me thats the truth

Cube’s first 3 solo LPs are all classics
NWA albums are classic
And he wrote Eazy E’s album which is classic ignoramous rap
November 14th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
I think we’re a little desensitized by agressive content (no 50) but at the time Death Certificate was sooo HARD…that shit was getting boycotted by all sorts of people for the LA riots content and definitely that track Black Korea. Shit…even I Wanna Kill Sam.
November 14th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Fuck that shit, cause I ain’t the one
For a punk mother fucker with a badge and a gun
To be beating on and throwing in jail
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell
Fuckin with me cause I’m a teenager
With a little bit of gold and a pager
Searching my car, looking for the product
Thinking every nigga is sellin narcotics
You’d rather see me in the pen
Then me and Lorenzo chilling in the Benzo
Beat the police outta shape
And when I’m finished, bring the yellow tape
To mark off the scene of the slaughter
No controller, bread and water
I don’t know if they’re fags or what
Search a nigga down and grabbing in the nuts
And on the other hand, without a gun they can’t get none
But don’t let it be a black and a white one
Cause they slam you down to the street top
Black police showing out for the white cop
Yeah, my brothers will swarm
On any mother fucker in a blue uniform

Common and Cube are both too legendary to even debate and come to a conclusion on a clear winner … Common is nicer now, but Cube has done waaaay too much in the game to even go against him for debate’s sake …
