   Best of Fab Mixtape>Harlem World. I said mixtapes don’t count, you said that was arbitrary. By that token, isnt not counting those two project doing the same thing, but multiplied by like 3?

    no. he changed the format as to which a new artist utlizes the mixtape. 50 took popular songs, remixed them, and make them his OWN. it came to the point where people thought they were HIS songs. this technique has since been copied by loads of rappers since.

    I don’t agree with what guy’s saying about Curtis and mixtapes, but your interpretation is not what he was getting at. Take for instance the “Fat Fat” song where 50 took the De La beat. That song got mad burn on Hot 97 and I’m sure the average person didnt realize that it wasnt an original song. At least that’s what I think he was trying to say.
