you’re confused. the East is the direction of the Makkah (Mecca) the Holy city specifically the Ka’bah (Black Stone). Sunrise and Sunset is a totally different topic which would take pages to explain.

…. who said atheist you dumb fuck, agnostic maybe not atheist, but seriously do some research you will find the similarities in almost all major religion and they all have the same basic ideals and concepts which are derived from when people worshiped the sun as god and what happens when people want to explain the unexplainable someone makes up a story to try and make sense of it, the key word is makes up, there was no burning bush that talked to moses no parting of the red sea, no one has ever heard the words of god that is all a nonsense, as for the soul part, there is actually documented physical proof that part of your brain ( which is where DMT is stored and released look up what it is and it’s purpose ) that forms once you are conceived and it vanishes a little after death ( i can get the specifics for you when I have time ) and most people with the proper knowledge believe that is where the soul resides

^^I totally understand the loss of enthusiasm when dealing with overwhelming idiocy, but isn’t that sort of a cop out? I read a study recently that proved scientifically that conservative people who are faced with actual, provable facts are more likely to believe what they already believe even stronger, despite being demonstratably wrong. That’s life. People hated on MLK and Obama too, they still did what they knew was right. If you really cared and felt you truly had the message that people needed to hear, a little jeering wouldn’t dissuade you. I make jokes because that’s my nature, but in all seriousness if you have a point that you feel is really relevant you should say it openly. If it’s the real deal it’ll withstand any criticism and the truth will be revealed.
