Foreel. Lupe is one of my favorite rappers right now, but sometimes I think he says and does shit just to be a decenter. Like he likes to argue and disagree. I think it comes from the fact that he TRIES to think out of the box. Like he knows everyone is going to like the speech so he starts thinking like “just cuz everyone is emotional and excited don’t make it great.”

I haven’t listened to Lupe’s opinion yet.

Honestly I thought the speech was moving. Like I wanna go out and start volunteering around my community and what not. Like I wanna help make this country better now. I could have cared less before.

I think it was great because of the significance of the moment and the inspiration that he instilled into us.

Your correct about Jay-Z godly flow, but imho & other jay-z stans, majority of his best work was before the black album, think about his flow from reasonable doubt to vol 1 (clue freestyles, features, etc) his flow wasn’t as great as it is now, but his wordplay was off the charts. I think that’s what i’m missing from jay-z now a days. His melody with his rhymes are taking away from that great wordplay he had way back when.

Did Lupe forget about how Jesse threw Barack under the bus before the election? The Rev made a public apology on the news for his behavior, and now he’s all choked up. Awww, isnt that sweet.

You know, for an intelligent guy, Lupe’s assertion that Obama’s speech didn’t move him at all was kind of pointless. I mean, we’re entitled to an opinion, but he never even backed up the statement. It was just kind of thrown out there.

But whatever, you know? Who really cares what some fukkin’ RAPPER has to say about politics? It’s like that old Dave Chappelle joke about when shit goes down, nobody’s really going ‘but was does Ja Rule think about all this?’

Lupe may be a lot better than Ja, but the sentiment is the same. Save your political thoughts for you homeboys. The rest of us just want to hear you rap.

AND FOR THE RECORD, I’ve gotta say that for a dude that gets so many props, Lupe’s beat selection SUCKS BALLS. That shit is super-corny, like on some Coldplay shit. Obama’s speech didn’t move you? I’m still waiting for you to find a beat that moves ME.

The point of Obama’s speech was to draw back the high expectations. Part of campaigning is a lot of rhetoric,you either be naive about it and think you can do anything ( as far a the presidential expectations go) or you do your best to not go overboard. the man is very intelligent and his staff was unbelievable. If you want to be moved by a speech of his just youtube 2004 DNC. That’s why he is the President-elect right now. I thought the best part was when he first walked out. YOu can’t put it in words. His speech was on point. He’s the President not a motivational speaker. Fuck Jesse Jackson, he’s a criminal and one backwards ass motherfucker. If you want the definition of hater Jesse Jackson embodies it. As far as lupe goes he’s giving his opinion. but saying jesse jackson crying was the best part of the night was a little dumb. he missed the message in his speech.

Lupe is just one of those guys that never really quite gets it. Do you know the type of dude i’m talking about? The guy that is so smart that he ends up outsmarting himself? You can tell by his songs. The dude likes being complex so much that the simple things in life escape him. After hearing the speech again, I actually agree that the shit is just so-so but that ain’t the point. The point is that Barack said what the people needed and wanted to hear. He hit all the main points: said democracy ain’t dead, gave some shoutouts, stressed there’s more work to be done by all of us and him in order to leave something good for the next generation, and let the haters live. He did everything he needed to do with the speech. Considering that the last three before that which were the Race Speech, the Nomination Victory Speech, and the DNC Speech were all off the chain, I can give him a pass on the Victory Speech. Bottom line though is coming off the heels of a history making victory there is no way Lupe’s statement will not make him look like a corny hater. Even if he felt that way he should have kept it to himself. This is like Jada telling people he ain’t registered to vote all over again. As smart as Lupe is, he obviously doesn’t understand politics, as demonstrated by this shit and the whole ATCQ fuckery. He sounds like he still ain’t learned nothing from that. He definitely in the eyes of some has achieved douche status now.
