I respectfully disagree. Mr Thornton will chew Gnoz up these days. 7 years ago? not so much

Yeah yeah, i know Nas tries to kick that knowledge (with varied results), but from what I’ve heard from interviews with Pusha he seems both more intelligent and more articulate than God’s other son. The Clipse simply choose to remain spittin bout their culinary skills. I’m sure the brothers Thornton will move on to more sophisticated topics as time goes by and when they gets the platform. Besides I kinda admire their commitment to spitting that pure hedonist/narcissist/capitalist/crack-rap

Untitled was disappointing. But “Queens Gets the Money” clearly shows that when at his best, Nas is still on a different plane than pretty much everybody else. Which is to say, Pusha aint fucking with Esco.

Nah I still think Pusha could destroy nas if he put his mind to it. His flow’s ridiculous and he picks better beats. Don’t get me wrong I’m a big Nazz fan, but Pusha would chew him up now.

Wow @ anyone thinkin Pusha T can remotely fuck with NaS

Yeah but I get the feeling somethion like Queens gets the Money takes a fuckload of time and thought from Nas. Not tha MC’s shouldn’t put time and thought into their raps, sometimes it seems to me like he’s trying to hard to go over heads and be intellectual when the concepts/lines he’s spittin really just aren’t that complex… Its not original thought.
Now I reckon if Pusha put that much effort into writing social/political commentary/observations/theory I think he would chew nas up. But dude stays slingin coke raps.
*shrugs*

I didnt even know Pusha T stans existed…..who knew
November 1st, 2008 at 10:06 am
Don’t get me wrong Nas is one of the greatest mc’s of all time. But his rep as some sort of insightful, knowledgeable “prophet” is overstated. Andre3000, Face, Hov, Ra, Killer Mike, shit even Pac and maybe saigon are much more informed/articulate/insightful artists. Nas is a great observer, descriptive, thats why illmatic was so fuckin good, he brought you right into his world. Truthfully he’s like the kid at school who got good grades cos he studied hard, reading listening and straight regurgitating the info he soaked up without having any real grasp/perspective/opinion while the other dudes are like the kids who breezed through class, undertsanding the concepts straight off the bat, forming their own opinion and being able to have a fuckin debate on the issue. and beat yo ass.
smh@my bloody classroom analogy
November 1st, 2008 at 10:13 am
for his next album, he needs to fuck with more great producers
stop dah smoothsoulfuloonery, NOW Nas needs 5 street bangers by preemo (as Nas Is Like), f5ve great bangers from dr dre (as Don’t Get carried away) and Just Blaze’s five soulful bangers too (as Why u hate the game, …) AND NaS WILL BE ON TOP for the next year
!AGAIN! WITHOUT CRITICS and fuckery. Remember that ! shyt iz rule.
he’s the best lyricist thought so thought. we need this ish ! peace

Umm I think Pusha T is a really good rapper, but they have been spittin crack rap since I can remember. Why would they all of a sudden change?
November 1st, 2008 at 10:23 am
That’d be nice, I think everyone would like to see that. Don’t hold ya breath though.
Nas can’t pick beats for shit, thats another thing Pusha does better than him.

Beats on Untitled > Beats on Re-Up Gang Lp
That LP was super-duper trash. And I’m a Re-Up fan. Beats were disgusting. Their first two LPs were 100% Neptunes, so of course the beats would be nice. But when they was left on their own to pick beats, shit went haywire
November 1st, 2008 at 10:33 am
nas can pick beats for shyt
5 beats by album
but now he needs to pick
15 shyt by album !
every nas collaborations/feats

nas needs to be in these conditions
and he will go Gold withtout doubt

People said Common went soft on Electric Circus [II]
But truth be told, that LP hosts some of Lonnie’s hardest & illest verses. It’s just the beats wern’t “hiphop” enuff for most people

as retarded as it might sound I gotta say yeah ..Nas has a crazy extensive body of work *pause* and has def given tons of food for thought but to me Pusha T is just a better MC on consistency alone.
^^^
See, was just pickin up where co!!in left off yesterday. They’re two completely different artists and Nas’s classics are undisputable. Right now though, Pusha’s spit game’s impeccable, while nas keeps tryin to convince himself and everyone else he’s God’s favourite son (he obviously didn’t get the memo bout JayHova takin that spot).
November 1st, 2008 at 11:40 am
Nas – 2 maybe 3 classic albums out of 10?
Pusha – 2 classics out of 2 (re-up 3.5 don’t count)

that logic is dumb. so if Nas only had two albums Illmatic and It Was Written, he’d also be 2 out of 2. Less albums, less room for error. And if you’re putting out 2 albums in 6 years, they both better be fire.

I belive the whole “Blueprint 3″ situation has to do with beats. I hear Jay hasn’t even really started it yet. Just one or two songs; one of which is supposed to be amazing.
But Jay did say that he wanted to take his time with this one.
I’m just not used to waiting more than 2 to 3 weeks for a Jay album. But I’ll wait.
