Bring up the post I said webbie was popular since ya’ll can’t keep his name out ya’ll mouth? Exactly, ya’ll use to have a grip of the real world, now ya’ll falling into the internets graps.

why is it that you assume your the only one who does sometimes walk outside, just because we don’t share your skewed points of view that means we don’t do anything but sit on the internet, even when trying to try and tell people to be open minded about shit you are still the most closed minded individual I have ever come ( none ) across on the internet or in person

All your life you heard the saying “it’s not what you know, but who you know” same thing with rap.
Ninjas be mad when there favorite artist doesn’t get shine, female shit.
I’ll be back. Take out is here
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:37 pm
this argument again.
The internet is not enough to make a HUGE impact in hiphop YET. Im sure these dudes eat, but not like people who have a “real world” cosign.
The streets/real world still rule whats hot on TV and billboard charts. The XXL cover is dope because it sheds some light on some real talents, but when I talk to people in real life about most of those people on the XXL cover, they have no idea…except Ace Hood who was by no means an internet star imo.
In alot of ways, Nahright/internets is still a bubble, you cant forget that.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
why people bitch so much about Ace Hood…if you believe yourself that Ace Hood aint good and that the rest of the cats are better (not popular cause that would be between Wale and Ace) then keep it moving…everybody loves to prove they Opinions as Truth…
i dont give a fuck if ace hood on XXL…he got Durka Durka as his DJ/Manager/Co-Signer so he’s gonna get soem shine more than the other cats…cause the rest of them are Interent only cats…except Wale.

Ok wale has all that but it still doesn’t equal the popularity that Ace hood has….ace hood has songs that have mad the charts wale has none of that….ace has more people watching his videos that are meant to be seen on tv….I’m talking the music videos that are debuted on tv then people record them then put them on the net….wale is an artist on interscope or some shit like that so I would expect him to get all that for marketing purposes but no way is wale songs being played more than Ace hood….Ace has khaled in his corner which is just about the biggest co-sign you can get from a DJ….plus he has Ross who will come through who is more known than the roots and will give him a verse or two….
the Miami rap scene> new york rap scene….the record sales indicate that…with the exception of 50 and Jay but they are global and have been on the scene..
But if you believe wale is more known than ace hood then it is what it is and we shall see in the next months

I’m far from closed minded, I listen to every artist ya’ll begged me to listen to, belive it or not.
I could sit here and tell ya’ll how much I enjoy MM2 but would you really belive me, or think i’m just saying that for the sake of saving face in this arguement? I could say I listen to MC rah rah rah, but why? I’m far from closed minded, I can only speak on what I see, & what I see is far from what ya’ll preceive as the truth, just being honest

^^^^ Wale music >>>> Ace Hood music,
but seriously, Ace Hood has hits on radio and on TV. As far as high profile hits, Wale was only on that Roots guest appearance, which wasnt as big as all the songs Ace Hood has been on. Ace Hood would sell more albums than Wale if they released albums next week.

Assuming that they are of equal talent, the dude online has built more trust in fans since a broader audience has heard of them. If I trust an artist to give me a good album and not just a good ringtone I’ll cop the whole disc. and I bet many people agree. Wale would sell more albums just because he has instilled more trust in his fans. Ace hood has a song in the club… You can’t trust that. You won’t know what you are buying.

October 22nd, 2008 at 6:01 pm
One artist being better than another artist is a relative term. Some may think that Ace Hood is better than Wale and vice versa based on what they like to listen to.
If I say that Shyne is better than 50, there would be an uproar in here and some may call for my banishment from Nahright for an indefinite amount of time. But in my ears and perspective he is.
What I think is good music and what someone else thinks is good music will always differ. And the fact that we can say, hey MC Milkshake is garbage is the beauty of having an opinion. Albeit, your opinion may not mean shit to the next man.

that’s not what i mean. Like for that nigga Grafh, he TRIES to be different with that wierd flow he has(used to have? i havent listened to sth in the last months). While Max B IS different with his rap/singing shit(BTNH was singing/rap, Max has his focus in rapping). And Asher Roth IS different cuz he’s a white college kid that is rapping that made it to some kind of stardom. As for all these The Hundreds/Alife NYC streetwear niggas(Wale, Mickey, Cool Kids, Kidz in the Hall)….at the beginning it was cool, but now there’s just too many of em.
You just are different or you not. If you try to be, people’ll notice.

The freestyle of charles I heard was before he was the internet “chosen one” it didn’t move me, and your the one who said a while ago that you only need one song to dictate if you like a artist or not when I tried to get you to listen to juvenile, so what’s really the difference between my logic & yours? I listen to everyone with open ears, if it wasn’t for nah right I wouldn’t of heard of ransom (well actually I heard his R.I.P song to stack in my homeboy car & I seen his name around these parts so I got the link from one of ya’ll (n/h) it was a wrap) or max b, so yeah, I give niggas a shot (n/h) with a honest opinion. I’m still tryna get my homies down with max, but they aint hip to the internet blogs like that, so they wouldn’t know the impact a internet artist like Max B has right now.
I like max B but currently he’s in the same boat as charles, & if I was set on winning debats & not speaking truth, I would lie & say “oh he’s popping in the streets”, but I won’t, gotta keep it ben franklin

For the record….my fav artist on that cover is BLU….I listen to that below the heavens regularly….
and this is just my opinion and a lot of you dudes secretly co-sign this but wont cause eskay might son you but Mickey facts is straight trash and ass all rolled into one….
wasn’t crooked I on the last leader of the new school cover….yeah where did that get him…..I bet eskay thought skyzoo should have been on there too…
… word and I think Charles is the nicest out of that group and wale second, I would still guess wale is the most known but maybe I have missed the boat on how much shine ace hood is getting but while I avoid the radio mtv/bet when someone really blows up like you guys are making it seem like ace hood has I hear about it whether its soulja boy d4l dem franchise boys petey pablo j-kwon chingy, I didn’t watch those channels or listen to the radio then either but you couldn’t escape knowing those songs so i guess I’m just waiting to be overwhelmed by the amount of ace hood songs I hear being played, are or you guys telling me he has reached that status and I just don’t know yet ?

I like max B but currently he’s in the same boat as charles, & if I was set on winning debats & not speaking truth, I would lie & say “oh he’s popping in the streets”, but I won’t, gotta keep it ben franklin

LMAO….so true…no way in the world would I argue Max B is more known than wale or anyone on that cover because their all in the same boat.

@ Ty
The freestyle of charles I heard was before he was the internet “chosen one” it didn’t move me, and your the one who said a while ago that you only need one song to dictate if you like a artist or not when I tried to get you to listen to juvenile, so what’s really the difference between my logic & yours?
….. because I can listen to Juve and say thats a different category of rap I don’t like, I don’t like any rap that sounds like that any of it, I have heard lots of juve songs ( except slow motion I can’t lie thats a guilty pleasure ) and I hate them all I just don’t like that type of rap ( and thats why I said you probably wouldn’t like charles either ) but at the same time you do listen to some real good rap so I guess I just get thrown off when you go back and forth from talking about nas and cormega to webbie and max b. ( just using webbie as an example since you even say ace hood is trash ) also again it’s about how you say it because you go out of your way to say I’m not gonna listen to this just because I don’t like his shirt or he looks corny or some shit and coming from someone else I’d probably let it slide but with you wanting to do something in rap I would think you would try and adapt an different attitude especially if you ever want people to give you chance
