   You and cold were completely right about the Joe Budden not being lyrical, like the traditional lyricist….I never thought the cat was lyrical but he always had some nice punchlines and was clever with the words…

   BUT, its funny how that argument flipped and defenders of Joe Budden said some shit like “just because you don’t say big words, doesn’t mean you’re lyrical…..CONTRADICTION….This is the exact same reason why tupac haters and nahright visitors don’t like Tupac, cause he wasn’t a traditional east coast sounding mc and didn’t use big words….. now when some cats favorite sounding mc isn’t as lyrical as they thought they were, they use the EXACT same argument as a non-traditional 2000’s sounding rapper would, if one were to defend them….

   So you basically unknowingly discovered something on nahright….

    Glad you asked…let me break it down,

    An extensive vocab makes one lyrical, but it doesn’t make you hot, it doesnt make you decent, it doesn’t make you wack it just means you have an extensive vocab…..In the 90′s we were all warped that these cats with this Michael dyson like vocab was the best thing since sliced bread…..but it was hot cause it was new and it wasn’t seen or heard of…

    Now the real question is does being lyrical= being hot…the answer is not neccessarily so…Some can make it hot some can’t….it’s all about the presentation of the lyrical words….If you give nas a set of large syllable words and told him he has to rhyme them and give those exact same of words to Kweli or Crooked I or Joell Ortiz……Nas would make it hot while the other three would make it sound bland and un listenable….

    So having an extensive vocab is just a tool in your arsenal, but it doesn’t mean that you are ill, dope or hot…
