   budden included, if he was “that poppin” as ya’ll say he was, why his album keep getting pushed back? If he was in popular demand like everyone on the internet says he is, he would’ve been had something out there, he went to a independent & his shit still got pushed pack, smfh, he gets love on the internet & can’t even get a album out on a internet label

   ^Co-sign, the funny thing is, i’m not hating or tryna deny the internets impact, but most of these guys that be online so long forget & really thinks the internet favorite = more popular, which hasn’t been proven yet, until a solid artist can become a superstar off the internet (besides soulja boy) I wont belive most of the boo boo these niggas spit, they let there feelings get in the way. Personally I hate ace hood, & will never listen to his songs, but I have heard them on the radio plenty of times, heard him in clubs, etc, but have yet to hear of a wale, charles etc offline yet, & there doper than ace, but that’s not the point of this arguement, which they fail to realize, there letting there feelings & there opinions get in the way of facts, & nas said it the best

   ….. thats why in the next couple of years you will see labels move to selling downloadable links instead of going to the store, guess what either way you need to be on the internet to get it, also people need to realize rappers don’t make money off their albums, most don’t obviously 50 and Em do and a few others but most the time your getting shit after you pay the label back so if you sign a deal all your doing is signing a deal to advertise yourself that way you can have concerts do advertisments all that, thats where you make the money and that where it’s always been not in album sales, the suits get that money …

   Youtube is the BEST indicator of who’s popular in terms of music on a national level on the internet…Youtube is the next thing besides tv and radio….XXLMAG is not a very good indicator….XXL magazine is not the best indicator of who is more popular….

    ^why would an artist with any sense sign with a major to begin with…..signing with a label is the dumbest shit on earth. it is being proven right now that the industry is folding in on itself because they cannot evolve pass cd format sales. print media is dying and radio is dying (and i’m a huge advocate for print media)….this is all shit that is being statistically proven. the internet is winning right now.
    the only benefit to signing with a major is their ability to put your music out on shelves, but if I, the actual artist can control how I put my shit out and when, AND bank on sites like nahright to give me access to ears i’d gladly take that over interscope.

    ^No it’s not, cause ya’ll argue that the streets has as much power as the internet right? As many people opinions matters online as the streets right? then how could a nigga like 50, who got black balled from the industry blow up with the odds against him? labels aint wanna pick him up, etc, but his music & street buzz carried him to the promise land, if budden had the same street buzz as fiddy, he would’ve been had a album out, the streets cryed out & manage to get the lox out of both of the bad boy deals, if the streets aint behind you, you aint shit, until proven other wise.

    And yes I know these events happen before the internet really showcased unknown local ass artist like wale, but hey, if they had the streets to back em, they would’ve been out. Besides I keep my ear to the streets

Atleast a major would get you notice, joell ortiz can’t showcase a show in baltimore, or anywhere left of NY, he couldn’t even be the opening act, why?     If Im a OG Rapper (c) Meth, Redman, Ghostface,Trick Daddy etc……I would never sign with a major..for what…you can do the shyt yourself..only thing the major label will do is rape you for your album sales, run up your budget (c) Anything played on BET and heard on the radio……now if your a new artist then it gets tougher….Majors are ran by white jewish people who have no clue what they are doing….You can single handly push your own shit thru the net easyyyyyyyy and build a solid fan base for touring….
