***You can’t be serious—that neartarded nigga went gold, at best, and for some reason, I doubt he even hit that mark (none)
^Dont act like Gold aint doing numbers these days….Nas new joint only went gold.
Not comparing Gucci to Nas, just sayin…
***Nas isn’t as commercially viable as he once was, but he’s still dope, and his legacy is cemented, and he’s in the G.O.A.T. conversation….Gucci Mane came out last year, had a corny strip club song which ripped off Rick James’ “Superfreak”, and disappeared as fast as he came on the scene (none)…on top of that, i was being generous when I said he went gold—and when that nigga is in any goat conversation, it probably has something to do with actual goats…

yup thats the only thing, these rappers that doing it big on the internet have to figure out how to capture the streets with their music to really capitalize. I think this new XXL feature with the Nah Right Starting 5 is a step in the right direction.
It’s all up to niggas’ labels and marketing teams. I was just telling a friend yesterday it don’t make sense hoe Joe Budden has absolutely no push out here in NY, yet Amalgam claims to have an office in Harlem. smh

I just wanna say that Webbie and Boosie have been rapping professionally for how long? at least like 7 or 8 years right? and they only started popping on a national level in like 06, 07? Prior to ’07, I had never even heard of Mickey, Asher or Charles Hamilton and all of those dudes have already been featured in magazines, on BET and other forms of non-internet media and none of them have dropped an album yet.

^I hear you but Outkast got no play in the trenches. I needed tha Wu to get me thru, that Mobbdeep, Nas, Jay and so forth. Honestly the only nigga outta the TRI States that got played was Scarface, and ofcourse NWA, but I was talking mid to late 90′s

so what’s that mean? and you think that people who go to hip-hop blogs dont’ leave their house and talk to other people who don’t visit hip-hop blogs? and like I said, all of these cats just started. Remember, in January I didn’t know who Charles Hamilton was.
and I don’t expect niggas on the street to know about any of these cats. I know most of my boys dont know about them. so what? you can pick any artist in the industry and there was a time when only a small group of people knew about them, so I really don’t understand what point ya’ll are tyring to prove.
